Who here beleives in jesus?
I also would like a christian layout featuring a big cross and a picture of an old style prodestant church and bibble. Also jerry falwell should be in the background somewhere.
I will pay someone $15 to make it.

You keep bragging about how much money you say you make... and you want to pay 15 bucks?
Ted Hat
October 22nd, 2006, 02:53 PM
Thats how much I think the work is worth, but I could be wrong. It is myspace layout- not a broadway promotional poster.
For example, a large company could pay a janitor $20 an hour because they can afford it, but is a janitor worth that much? No he isn't.
Does anyone want to make me a christian layout to my specifications?

Did you ever see Passion Of The Christ? You think Jesus dying for your sins (which im sure you do a lot) is a joke?

Um...those layouts aren't what I had in mind.
I am asking for a Chistian layout to my exact specifications. I want a layout with an old Prodestant church, a bible, and picture of rev. Jerry Fallwell somewhere in there. Maybe some lightning bolts. And at the top it should say in old english font; 'Read your bible, sinner!' I am tired of the layouts with sappy bible quotes as well as sifting through spammy adsense myspace sites that are essentially worthless.

Do I "believe in Jesus"......
That's kind of a vague question really. Do I believe he existed? Probably. Do I believe he was the righteous son of God who walked on water, fed thousands of people with a couple fish and a few loafs of bread and died for my sins? You'd have a better chance of convincing me that Xenu has enslaved my body my friend.
But if the question is "Do you believe in Jesus" as in "Do you believe in God", the answer couldn't be more vague than the question. I've never seen someone sum up my beliefs so easily and completely than Penn Jillette when he said:
I believe that there is no God. I'm beyond atheism. Atheism is not believing in God. Not believing in God is easy -- you can't prove a negative, so there's no work to do.
In fact, his entire monologue (short in whole) and an audio link can be found here (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5015557). Whether you're religious or not, it's worth a listen as it carries with it a profound notion of personal responsibility.
My questions is this: Did you really want to know, or did you just want someone to offer to create this layout for you?
mcfox
October 23rd, 2006, 04:53 AM
Wow! $15! Er, no thanks.
Why not make a decent offer price and maybe someone will take you up on it? Let's face it, you're asking for a custom layout and all you are offering is $15.
I must say I had no idea who Jerry Falwell was, so I looked it up and found this brief bio on rotten.com (http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/religion/televangelists/jerry-falwell/) and also this on the wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Falwell).
Who knew?! He has a fatwa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatwa) placed upon him by one of the Iranian Ayatollah's.
{clears throat ....}
I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority
I pledge allegiance to the underworld
One nation under dog
There of which I stand alone
A face in the crowd
Unsung, against the mold
Without a doubt
Singled out
The only way I know
I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority
Stepped out of the line
Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time
To my own beat now
The only way I know
One light, one mind
Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all
F*** 'em all
You are your own sight
I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority

My first 12 years of school were in a convent. All of the teachers were nuns.
Was taken to church every week till 14 and if me and my brother were mischevious we were taken to the front benches and made to sit inbetween the nuns (this happened avery week!).
Do I believe in god? Not sure, ask me one on sport.
Can I make you a layout, unfortunatly not but good luck with your hunt.

I find the devil an interesting concept.
An Angel of God decides "hey, I think I can do a better job than the big man - so I'm going to start my own heaven". Now I'm not siding with this devil nor am I saying I believe he exists, but for the sake of argument lets just say the Bible is a book based on actual historical accounts and not a book meant to lead the human population on a better path written by people smart enough to know mankind couldn't find enough faith in themselves to form a progressive or even hospitable society otherwise. I mean, lets think about when Christianity was created. The rise, height and fall of the most sinful society in human history would bring even the most honest of great thinkers to start thinking of ways to save humanity. Man has been rewriting history since history has been written, so we're not outside the realm of possibility or even plausibility here.
Let's side track for a minute. If you have a group of people led by one individual, and another individual in the group decides to try to take the reigns and that individual convinces 1/3 of the people in the room to come with him, either he has a pretty good plan or at least 1/3 of the people in that room are incapable of making their own decision.
So if 1/3 of the Angels in heaven thought that Lucifer could do a better job, what does that say about God? God created everything correct? Angels included. Obviously he didn't control the Angels or he would have kept them in heaven right? So he let them think for themselves and off they went. What does your creator have to do to you for you to think to yourself that you should betray him for another?
They're all rhetorical questions really, because there is no answer. My point is that the whole idea of Heaven and Hell seems more to me a way to articulate the idea that as man you need to do good rather than evil or you end up in an evil place.
Because who's to say Hell is evil? Who's to say Hell is some eternally empty place that exists only to oppose Heaven? If Lucifer was so hell bent (pardon the pun) to do better than God, why would he create such a place? Who's to say Heaven is all that bad, or even bad at all? Heaven could kick **** you never know...
I'm just playing the devils advocate here, but unlike the religious right who eats this stuff up because someone told them to I look at it from a neutral point of view. And from that point of view, none of it makes any more sense to than Scientology....

I have a more black and white view of Christianity and god. Either your a believer or not. If you don't choose to live Christ forever, you won't achieve 'salvation'. And during the rapture you will be left behind.

Ever since you joined this forum you have hassled people, made smart remarks, and generally been a pain in the ***.
I believe one of the christian principles is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", if you think about that for a minute you might just figure out why people give you grief.

Hey Ted, I really didn't want to comment on this whole thing but I would say one thing. It rubs me the wrong way often times when people start "throwing around" Christian in whatever fashion, especially conveying themselves as such, and then tending to make a rather unfavorable, poor, negative, or whatever impression on people.
Whether it be thru actions, attitude, comments, whatever. For those of us who are, it often times groups us in with the negative impressions created by others. In this day and age where there are so many poor conceptions of christians and christianity, we don't need further interactions, events, etc., bringing anything associated to christians down any further.
My opinion is this issue is certainly not so significant as it could be, but I would encourage you and even appreciate it if you took a look at your attitude and what you're conveying to this community before you continue to convey your beliefs and label yourself as a christian.

As mentioned, of all the members we have had here, you have been the biggest, most arrogant *** to pretty much everyone. What the hell kind of "Christian" are you? And then you bring up making more money than everyone lol. Isn't greed a sin? Aren't you supposed to live a humble life and you will be taken care of in the afterworld?
Either you are joking to just be a troll or you are one of the worst "Christians" I have seen. Maybe you should spend more time reading your rule book or you're going to screw up and end up in hell for eternity lol.

I'm a bit confused myself Ted. You asked a loaded question and got what in my opinion was a very mild response. This topic generally gets very heated very quickly regardless of what forum it is discussed in. If that's not the conversation you wanted to have, you shouldn't have made the post in the first place.
Why the conversation has to go down hill is beyond me though. I don't see why people can't have a civil and respectful conversation on the topic without resorting to absolutes and dead end remarks.
I do have a question for you though. Do you really believe God will punish me for living my life honestly with integrity simply because I wasn't willing to take a book that was reinterpreted several times throughout history as absolute fact? Would he allow a rapist in heaven over me simply because the rapist repented for his sins and accepted Jesus as his savior?
I respect religion as an ideal and I have the utmost respect for those who follow their faith in the manner their God has asked them to. You on the other hand don't seem to be holding your cross very high my friend.
I second LinkPromo. Stop being an ***.

Heckled? I didn't see much by way of heckling.
What I did see was you trying to get someone to design a custom layout for you for $15. This request was wrapped under a loaded title and a one sentence, 'do you believe ..' post. In my opinion you were trying to hustle a layout for next to nothing and weren't in the least interested in any reply except one that agreed to making the layout. So ... I'm guessing that we 'all suck' because we wouldn't make you one?

Back the horse up there Cowboy.....
Im sure there are a couple of people on this site that probably make more in a day then you probably make in a month ONLINE.
Saying you have no clue of who makes what then thats a pretty stupid thing to say.
Just like what I said above......I really have no clue what you make but the statement was stupid just like yours was.
Making personal attacks on people only shows you have nothing better to say and it also shows pure immaturity on your part.
I would suggest you lose your attitude or your venture here will be short lived. I dont think anyone on the net will make you a custom from scratch layout for $15 regardless of what its niche will be.
People have told you this but you ignore it. Rather then take what people have said you have chosen to try to belittle people and attack them because you are not getting what you want to hear.

This topic is lame. Where's all the interesting topics that were going on about MySpace sites (even though I know this section isn't limited to that) up until about a week ago. I visit and pretty much only this topic on the 'site owners' part of the forum has new posts, mainly uninteresting posts at that, that don't relate to anything we can learn from or find useful. Especially when they are the creation of Ted Hat.
