This is probably impossible but who knows.

Some of us on here way too much and are always refreshing. I know if we view it from msplive we don't have to refresh. But when we are away like looking at another window we don't know if a new thread has posted.

I want it to make a sound when a new thread as posted. ''ding'' I can hear it now.

Actually all that would need to be done is to load a flash object that played an mp3 the moment it was loaded along with the new post that appears on the page. The only problem with this is time - or the lack thereof.
