What really is a groupbuy, and what are the benefits? Sorry if this sounds really n00bish, but I've never participated in one.
Thanks

My understanding is that this is when it is only sold to a certain number of people. The uniqueness would be that there are not a million copies of this out there on every site.
I think! =)

Right. But say there's 20 people, and they each pay $50, that'd be $1000 for the seller?! And it wouldn't be very unique if 20 people had it.

Well they are obviously going to charge more since only a few are allowed to buy. But your right also, 20 would be high seeing how now days, I see few sells exceeding this. And $50.00, dang thats a lot, but it depends obviously on what is being sold.

Just incase you were thinking about starting one... Greg says they are only allowed if the content is ALREADY made.
As for what they are, they are basically a group of people splitting the price of graphics, making it cheaper.
Let's say you make 20 layouts. You sell the layouts at $2 each. (just an example!) That's $40 total.
Then decide how many people you want in. 10?? Okay, so divide the total ($40) by the number of people you want to give the content to (10) and you get $4 each. So, that's how much everyone would make.
Hope that makes sense, I suck at explaining things/

Most people do groupbuys now. Except now you HAVE to have ready-made content. What sucks is, nowadays you have to sell like 1k glitters to get just $50 a pack. Haha. Anyway, good luck sadaf :P

I've thought about doing this myself with layouts.
I have over 40 done now that I have not put up for sale. However, most are repeats IE there is only 15 different subjects. However I did not know if that would be appealing to webmasters or not.
How exactly does a group buy work? Precious you mentioned Greg has some new rules about it which I believe I can meet. However, I don't have clue how to create anything like it.
thanks for the thread hopefully someone can give more details.

A groupbuy is when you sell only a certain amount of packs (i.e. you could sell 10 packs of layouts with 20 HQ layouts in them for $45, something like that). like precious said, packs have to be premade. what used to happen is people started groupbuys and couldnt finish them :\ anyway, i hope this helps

exactly. only problem is, if you get tagging for a site and dont get an untagged pack, then you cant even use the graphics on a new site, etc. maybe, sellers should offer untagged packs to trustable members? :\ i have a few new sites im working on and i have some really nice graphics i got awhile back that are tagged for my one site but like i dont have the untagged set. eeeeek.
