i just created an overall look for a template im going to use for my myspace site. i spent a pretty long time doing it, perfecting it.
just looking for some feedback on it. just an overall preview of it. I'm aware the green is sort of...bright. i really think the colors look pretty good together. i'll probably end up glittering the logo, but what do you guys think overall? Will it be easily navigable? do you think its nice ad placement? Any suggestions to make it better? The links in the navigation will probably be regular text links, with some sort of hover effect.

I personally don't like the 'stroke' around the navigation font - it gives it a harsh look which doesn't sit very well with the pastel colors.

I like the colors but I think I agree with mcfox on the stroke.

really? maybe its your screen resolution because i have mine at 1024x768 and it fits the internet window very well and i can see it perfectly. I chose the size based on the stats from my old site which said that 90% of my visitors had that screen resolution :)
Girly was what i was going for because how many boys will honesly visit a site called "Rad Glitters" I mean i know a few will but it will be majority girls.

From my analysis and expierence designing sites, your layout isn;t very good for a few reasons:
1. The font on the top is hard to read. The text is too bold and compact.
2. Bland color scheme
3. Links don't work (If I was going to buy a template I woun't just want the index page)
4. Too wide. A lot of people have smaller resolutions and your site would need too much horizontal scrolling.

Don Kon no worries. I have a laptop i just bought and i too am experiencing the difficulties of seeing things i once thought were large.
and Ted Hat...its for my own site, i was just asking for opinions on the look, i know the links dont work :):)
I was thinking about the wideness, i may try to trim it down a tad, but i was just going off the size of a template i saw lol.
I'm pretty happy with it, though i know it could be better.

I think it's a good start. I agree with the stroke/text comments, kind of hard to read as is. I think it will look nice once you get all your cool bright content in there.
Have you tried using different colors for the main background? Maybe some muted pastel color? Either that or maybe a ligher or darker gray? Just a humble opinion of course ;).

I think it's good, I really like the tone of the background grey colour. I like the logo.
Maybe change the green on the site, to the same green as used for the 'd' in the logo.
I agree with TedHat as far as it is quite wide, most users do use 1024x728 screen res now, but personally when I design a site, I try and keep all the content within 800x600, only adverts spill into the 800+ resolution. So if someone does surf onto my site with 800x600, they'll miss no content, just won't see certain ads.
My oinly dislike is the menu, too busy, way too busy, too many links. Maybe pad them a little so they're spaced out more and instead of a long list like this:
* Quotes Layouts
* Bands Layouts
* Rap Artists Layouts
* Pop Artists Layouts
* Actors/Actresses
* PolkaDot Layouts
* Stripes Layouts
* Heart Layouts
* Grunge Layouts
* Cartoon Characters
* Food/Drinks Layouts
* Brands/Shopping
* Superheros Layouts
* Movies Layouts
* Animals Layouts
* Patterns Layouts
* Other Layouts
Maybe use some 'expand' type code and chnage it to this:
* Quotes Layouts
* Bands Layouts
* Rap Artists Layouts
* Pop Artists Layouts
* Actors/Actresses
* PolkaDot Layouts
* More...

Whats that font on your buttons and headers? I see that used everywhere on glitters for the domain name.
Site looks really nice overall.

its a font called 04b_09 im pretty sure...make it a size 6 to have the best look.
thanks for the advice DavidR. I thought it was too busy but I was trying to help for seo. I'm hoping to get it fixed up and ready in a couple days, so i can get rid of that ugly layout style that came with the free turnkey script.
