Does anyone have a mod which would place 1-2 small buttons at the top of the users page in the middle instead of the corner tag? I have seen some sites do that and am not sure how effective it is, but I think we should elaborate a little on this in order to best maximize traffic from these ad spots.
I have no idea how effective my current corner tag is but I would think if we all put our heads together we could come up with a better way of getting users to our sites from these graphics.

Why turn people's profiles into crap? The corner tag is elegant and doesn't get in your way
If people are interested they will click on your banner, no matter where you put it

the cornertag doesnt really bring me much traffic. the good thing is that each profile counts as a backlink.

no one is talking about messing up their page. they could be quite small pieces of graphics

ok I know what your talking about what you want is the direction of the code in a different spot :D
its all to do with the codeing on the actuall code for the corner tag not to do with a mod.
any one who has any thing to do with myspace sites knows that the top right corner is a poor position for the tag as its over done and any average myspace user knows how to remove this corner tage and code in seconds.
personally I use a custom tag which I have never seen any other site use :D people click it because its different lol, thats what you have to aim for - to be different. also I dont really even place my codes in the corners any more. I use much smarter spots which are more visually appealing.

Not wanting to sound pedantic, but do you mean top left? I have seen some on top right, but always thought it more out of sight, than top left. I've seen along the top near the 'SignOut' area, it takes quite a small logo to fit there and isn't noticed again.
I wouldn't want to add one that obstructs the page, but I do agree there could be better positioned buttons. that merge better into the page, but also receive better click rate.

:tooth:
My 'other half' is an artist and says that when people are looking at 'stuff' the eye is naturally drawn to the top left and then down the left hand side before anything else.
Not sure if this is the same for left handed people or not tho.

I was thinking of having a button that scrolls down the page as they scroll down. ANyone remember this back in the day some sites used to do it lol
but I am sure it would be hated by the users

The issue with having a tag in the top left is that if they change their contact table or get some custom graphic most likely that site will also have a tag in the top left. Ive seen my tag overlapped a few times, and a few times overlapping others.
Experiment with different spots and maybe different shapes and sizes.
