How do I stop receiving these emails about this eeos stuff and firesale? There seems to be no opt-out link. Since the previous email went out, I unchecked
If you do not want to receive these notices, disable this option.
Receive Email from Administrators
You can allow other members to send you email messages.
Receive Email from Other Members
Please don't send me anymore emails to promote your eeos site (or promote firesale = drive traffic to your beta site) since it's not finished yet.

I'd also like to opt out of receiving further email, regardless of the subject. Thanks.

You can't stop them, ha I have been told this already. You're going to have to block the address from your inbox, no other, they are unstoppable!

It's very easy, just ask me to ban your account, if your not interested in receiveing two emails a year you obviously don't want to be a member of MySpacePros (N)

Cyclops that's a bit of a silly thing to say. With most people it's just they might have signed up using their personal e-mail and don't want this sort of stuff sent to it... people obviously do want to be MSP members... and they get the same messages in their PM inboxes on this forum, so why do they need to be sent to personal inboxes too?

Normally I would agree David but look at Magnets reputation, he's just being an arseho1e.

To stop getting emails:
1) Click on usercp near the top
2) Click Edit Options
3) Under Receive Email, uncheck both boxes that say Receive Email
4) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes; don't miss this last step, LOL

I simply don't want to receive the emails. It has nothing to do with the community, I'm just not interested in whatever they have to offer.
Does that make me an asshole?
PS: The first thing I did when signing up to this forum was opting out of emails. Opting out doesn't stop them from being sent.

No, that's what I was saying a bit earlier, that doesn't stop them being received when sent by the admin.

I don't think their trying to drive traffic to the beta, why the hell would they want to do that?
its quite obvious with all the restrictions in place to even join beta, hence the email verification form the admin and msp user sign up only myeeos is pretty exclusive atm.
Fire sale was quite obviously just a marketing move to make the sellers money, help improve the listings on this site and also save the buyers some money.
I think the Fire sale was a great idea, and I think in no way it had a connection with the release of myeeos beta.

Absolutely Connections, I put the fire sale together and it had nothing to do with Myeeos.
The sale was thought about at a time when a lot of sellers of content were finding it hard to find customers and maybe as a result of that fires started to break out around the Forum.
So in an effort to get everybody back in harmony the Fire-Sale was born.
I never expected it to be anywhere near as popular as it has been, I thought maybe a dozen sellers might support it and hoped an email promoting it would bring back some members who had drifted away.
Now if a few people are offended because they received an email from a community they belong to then I apologise for that. But in saying that I would do it again because so many members (both buyers and sellers) profited from the sale and the only way to alert them to it was by sending out a PM to all members.
The minority aren't going to dictate what happens here .... grin and bear it

Normally you would agree, but simply because I have "red reputation" you say I'm being an arseho1e. This way of irrational thinking got me my "red reputation" in the first place
Either way, you guys shouldn't be sending out emails to people who choose not to receive emails in the user control panel.

Now if a few people are offended because they received an email from a community they belong to then I apologise for that.
I'm a member of over 20+ forums, but that doesn't mean I visit them everyday or am a part of their "community". Does this mean that they all can spam me with email and private messages so I can know about their "deals" just because I'm a registered member of their forum?
But in saying that I would do it again because so many members (both buyers and sellers) profited from the sale and the only way to alert them to it was by sending out a PM to all members.
Sending email and private messages is not the only way to "alert them" -- anyone who is a part of this community would see the big red "FIRE SALE" section when they visit the forum and not need to have both an email and PM - it's the first thing you see as it's listed as the first forum. The only reason to send an email and PM would be to get those who no longer visit the forum - thus aren't a part of the community - to see the deal(s) going on and come back and visit.
That said, I didn't mind the messages personally but think that if someone opts out to receive emails from administrators/other users, you should not "override" them and send them anyways. I also thought it was completely unnecessary to send both an email and private message that contained essentially the same message. Pick one or the other.

The fire sale really didn't help regular buyers of content like me. Infact it pissed me off!! The same stuff that I had paid FULL price for a week ago was now available for 50% off. And I didn't quite get the logic by Greg about discounting MSRS or MSLS, that it would'nt be fair to the previous license holders.

The emails aren't a big deal. I estimate that I got only six emails from myspacepros in the entire seven months I've been here.

If you're opted out of receiving emails you shouldn't be getting them. I don't know why that is, but I'll look into it. There's an option to send the email to people who have opted out, but I don't touch it for exactly this reason.
And this has nothing to do with sending traffic to myeeos, don't be ignorant.
