This is unbelievable. The original link is here (http://www.thehundreds.com/wordpress/?p=1874), but I'll paste it below as it's been on digg and who knows how it'll hold up:

“SHE’S JUST RIDING A SKATEBOARD!”

Skateboarders know that the annual Go Skateboarding Day is pretty much NO Skateboarding Day in the eyes of law enforcement. We’ve all had our fair share of testosterone-fueled police power trips, but sometimes luck’s on our side, and we have the video camera rolling while their dirty hooves are pushed against our backs.

Last week, a few kids in Arkansas were out skating for Go Skating Day and had a run-in with an officer. Unfortunately, the kids fought the law, and the law won. But thanks to a really smart videographer and Youtube, the skateboarders are about to really raise disorderly conduct.

If this angers you, then you’re a normal, red-blooded human being.

Oh and just in case you were interested, the officer’s name is Joey Williams, and he works for the:
Hot Springs Arkansas Police Department
Phone: (501) 321-6789
Fax: (501) 321-6708
Chief of Police, Bobby Southard
Email: bsouthard@cityhs.net
641 Malvern Avenue,
Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901

You know, just in case you were wondering.

Anyone who knows me knows I hate the man, so I phoned them. When I let them know I wanted to "make a complaint against an officer" they quickly told me it was under investigation and they couldn't talk about the matter and hung up on me. I never mentioned what officer, so I'm guessing they've received a few phone calls already.

The law is simple, don't ride your skateboard on the sidewalk. But holy **** man, they're just kids. What the hell is this guys issue that he needs to abuse them for something as innocent as riding their skateboards on the sidewalk?

That is so OTT.
A good talking to would have sufficed.

As a retired professional skateboarder (ok beginner) who's skateboard was taken away multiple times (ok just one time), this angers me sooo much! I showed it to a friend and he's just as mad. I'm going to phone him as well.

This happened to me. I was skating and he just snatched my skateboard. Cops can be so cruel. I think they do it to show they have power, that way we don't attempt to run.

But wow seriously, they were just skating! Some towns are so ****ty that there's nothing else to do but skate. My old town is like that, and the only skatepark we had is full of gangsters selling and doing drugs.

You totally can see the reason that he took after that kid who ran was because he wanted to get that picture. That kid is smart as hell for running off he would have destroyed the camera.

There was a highlight to it.

The fat *** cop tried to chase the one kid (who did nothing but walk past him looking) and apparently he couldn't catch him ROFL

Time to make the doughnuts!

If he had just accepted and let him arrest him none of that would have happened though. The kids were trying to wind him up and they know they were.
At the same time, it is just riding a skateboard and didn't need all that crap.
however, I've been ridden past by kids REALLY fast and it is pretty scary if they're wizzin towards you real fast a group of em on skateboards coz you don't know which way to move rofl.
OK, IMO, they should have stopped and let them have a word with them and take their details so they are forced not to do it again but on the other hand the law should not allow arrest on this unless they're known.
AND, for all we know the officer could of KNOWN all those kids, they could have a reputation for anything or could be skating on the sidewalk EVERY SINGLE DAY, who knows.

It doesn't matter how you paint it, there is no justifiable excuse for his behavior.

Ha, I saw this a few days ago. Ive had a few incidents like this skating...but nothing like this guy. Talk about a powertrip.

But then again, we dont see any footage of before the kid got choked on the ground. For all we know, that kid is some punk *** who flipped the cop off or something. Or... just another cop on a powertrip. haha

But then again, I think we would have heard a kid curse at least once in the video, and that wasn't the case. The worst thing that could have happened in my opinion, is that they were not just "riding" their boards, but actually doing tricks. If the kid falls, the skateboard can come out flying and hit someone. They were still just skating though, and I highly doubt they were being disrespectful to people or the cop.

Sorry , what is wrong with that?

I have seen a lot worse in person, LOL.

It does illustrate a very good point about our society though. The cops are really after the YOUTH, not black youth , not spanish youth, but youth in general.

I have been searched by so many white cops growing up I lost count and I'm white too.

Imagine these had of been black kids.... we would here "oh, racist cop".

I guess it makes them feel good about themselves. I'm sure they go around bragging for months about that without telling anyone "they guy I choked was 13."

LOL oh you are so right. And he was 6'5 on a motorcycle, not 5'6 on a skateboard when he tells his story LOL

I'd really like to see what lead up to the situation. Half the story isn't enough information for me to base an opinion upon.

I've been on both ends, obnoxious cops I wanted to smack and obnoxious kids I wanted to smack. Also good cops and good kids.
