I've had so many people ask me how I make glitter graphics so I thought I would share. This tutorial is for PAINT SHOP PRO users. I will be using Paint Shop Pro X (10).

Style 1
Step 1. Save this glitter fill:
http://s202.photobucket.com/albums/aa270/pimpmyprofilews/Glitter-Fills/2.gif
Step 2. Open it up in Animation Shop and you should see three frames. Copy and paste each frame into Paint Shop Pro.
Step 3. Make a new 500x400 document with a transparent background.
Step 4. Using the text tool, (keyboard shortcut: t) type some text and set it to floating. Click apply.
Step 5. Use the floodfill tool (keyboard shortcut: f) and click on foreground palette. Then click on the patterns tab and you should see all 3 frames of the glitter.
Step 6. Click on the first frame of glitter and fill your text with it. Copy and paste it into Animation Shop. Undo (keyboard shortcut: control + z) until the glitter is no longer in the text. Go back to patterns and choose the second frame and fill the text. Copy and paste into Animation Shop. Do the same for the last frame.
Step 7. File>Save As... and save. :) It should look something like this:

Style 2
Step 1. Save these glitter fills (highlight the first one to see):

http://s202.photobucket.com/albums/aa270/pimpmyprofilews/Glitter-Fills/27.gif
Step 2. Open both up in Animation Shop and paste into Paint Shop Pro.
Step 3. Make a new 500x400 document with a transparent background. Use the text tool (keyboard shortcut: t) type some text and hit submit. Make sure its set to floating and the anti-alias to smooth.
Step 4. Go to 3D Effects> Inner Bevel and set the settings to something like this. Adjust the width and smoothness if it doesn't look right. Thinner text = lower width which = less smoothness. ;)
http://i8.tinypic.com/4ozyolt.gif
Step 5. Click OK. Then, Edit> Cut and Selections> Select None. Fill the background with white. Edit> Paste as New Selection and go to Modify>Expand and expand by 2px. Edit> Cut and Selections> Select None again and fill with the first frame of the grey background. Then Modify>Expand and expand by 3-4px. Paste as New Selection and using the flood fill tool, set the tolerance to 200. Open up patterns and choose the first frame of the glitter fills with a transparent background and fill the text with it. Copy and paste into Animation Shop. Undo and fill again with the second frame. Do the same with the third. You''ll get something like this:

Artistic Effects (artistic-effects.com) is a lot better than Inner Bevel if you have that. :) It would look like this:

Also check out the Design Resources (http://myspacepros.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4486) thread for better glitter fills and fonts. :)

Try using patterns or gradients too. ;) I'm not going to give out all my secrets for glitters but that will get you started if you don't already know how. ;)

See my suggestion on Dale's thread on tagging.

Could mods consider having a tutorials section? I see we have this tutorial and also another on creating glitters. It would be useful to have a series of tutorials on image blending, creating blinkies etc....

Kenzie - great tutorial - thanks

Tracie, you should contact Greg and talk to him about it. Like Angiie said, mods are limited with what they can do :\

Thanks again Kenzie, you're the bomb. Woot Woot. Rep for you :D

Great tut Kenzie....

I think a tutorials section would be great.

Rep for you for your hard work...Maybe I'll put one together on Photoshop, LOL

Darn, I can't give ya one right now
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to kenzie again.

LOL

Heres a virtual one...+1...

Click on the foreground color (you should see a color wheel or something like that and then two boxes- one white and one black) and then click the patterns tab. Find the grey glitter fill there and press ok. :)
