I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, so feel free to move if needed. Anyways so i'm looking for help specifically, but feel free to make this post into tips & ideas in general for everyones sake.

okay, so my site is www.free-extras.com and it has always done very well with pageviews but as of recently it's been dropping, even though the daily unique has been improving. i've been averaging 4-5 pageviews per user. and maybe some webmasters wouldn't look at this as bad, but this is dropping for my site. I put a lot of time into trying to improve things like this and for over a year now all has gone well. but i'm stuck and i'm reaching out for any info on what i can do to increase those damn page views. i'm open to critisism as long as it's helpful. lol

i have around 20 graphics per page and i get 11-13 pageviews per person. you might want to compartmentalize your page better so that it doesn't look like everything is just smooshed on one page without borders and sections.

well i find that better for ad clicks. but you think making everything into noticable sections would increase pageviews? not saying you're wrong at all. but i'm curious what is your reasoning and thinking behind that?

Do things like the following:

1. If there are 20 graphics per page, change it to 10
2. Limit outgoing links, and try to have your content come first.
3. Move ads lower, your visitors might be just coming in and exiting straight away
4. The quality of traffic. Are the users coming to your site really looking for glitters? The best user for your site is someone who is looking for glitters, so there would be no point ranking for "myspace layouts" or "myspace generators". You're ideal keywords would be glitter graphic related terms.

I have found that making the # of graphics too low actually decreases pageviews. I've tested it out and for me that's the case. My reasoning would be that, people hate to just see a few graphics per page and be forced to load a new page to see more graphics. Anything under 10 would probably get annoying.

Also, you don't have to compartmentalize too much. e.g. you don't have to separate every single section with a header. I normally separate the navigation from the content, so that people don't have too much info for their brain to process and leave the page.

i guess the only thing i can do is make the sections a little more noticable. my other site is a great example of that (www.juniorslayouts.com), and those reloads are terrible. but there's many reason for that, i won't even bother going into it.

as far as the graphics per page. i already have 10 per page, any lower than that and my navigation will be longer than the list of graphics. ROFL

i probably won't make any changes to make the sections stand out till after fathers day, i'll post to let everyone know the results.
