I need to pay my programmer and I ran out of funds in my paypal, rather wait to deposit funds to my account I am just going to sell a request board script I had made. This is 100% custom and unique...nobody has even seen it before as I havnt even put it live on my site yet. Only selling up to 10 copies.
Demo: http://www.layoutsnetwork.com/requests/index.php
Price: $45.00 (paypal only obviously) no reseller rights, $45.00 is for one site, each additional site is $20 additional.
Features:
Users can submit a new request if they dont see their desired request already listed. If they make a new request and theres already a record of it, it will update the already listed request. So if "Beyonce" already exists and they type and submit "Beyonce" the count will go +1 as if they hit request link.
Requests are sorted by highest first.
strips out words "myspace" "layout" and "layouts" its obvious they are requesting layouts so they dont need to enter these words.
in config file you can specify:
Paging: how many requests to show per page.
Ip logging: specify how many times each person can vote per day.
limit characters: to prevent users from entering too much text.
heres what it looks like:
//--MISC CONFIG--//
//The ammount of times a user can request something every day
$daily_request_limit = 5;
//The ammount of requests shown per page
$requests_per_page = 8;
//The number of characters a request name can be
$request_name_size = 50;
//--MISC CONFIG--//
script is very simple and works exactly how it should.
Dont need to use them crappy shoutboxes to take your requests.

Ok, heres my take on this:
The feature is cool, however, I think that most people visiting our sites, want the whole site to look pretty, and the layout request feature that you have is too bland.
A cool addon would be, that if the layout is requested, lets say for Beyonce, it should be able to go through your db and check if that layout is already available and show it to the user.

the request script has no styling on it. just takes a few lines of css code to make it match your site. I didnt feel the need to fancy it up any because everyones site is different and will obviously need to alter the style to reflect their site anyway.

that would be cool but that being cool doesnt mean effective. First of all, if this was a feature this would reduce your page views, people make money from their visitors browsing through their site clicking ads using layouts etc.
secondly, every site is different, I couldnt make it just universally work for every type of myspace recourse script.
Lastly, your site should already have a search feature, if it doesnt, thats lacking on your part.

As for features, how about an admin page to:
Delete the layout's you've added
Reset all view to 0
Edit names to proper spellings
If you tested the script, you would see that:
1) You cant delete layouts you added because its for your users to submit requests, not for YOU to add layouts to it.
2) there are no views, this script has nothing to do with number of views, and if you are referring to requests...that would be totally senseless. There is a feature to clear all data from the request board to start from scratch.
3) Edit names to proper settings...im not sure about you..but i certainly dont want to sit on my computer all day correcting other peoples grammatical errors...this is a convenience script..that would take away from its convenience.

Yes, users can vote more than once, or only once...as stated in the first post, you have that option to set.
I dont see whats so funny that you felt the need to laugh out loud about it, video tape yourself staring into your computer monitor and laughing, and see how silly you look.
thanks for the bump though

this is a great little script. I just implemented it into my site and people are already using it. I usually get around 50+ emails a day for requests and that's almost impossible to keep track off. It's easy to setup, configure and blend into your site.
funniest request for today -> "womens period"

It ranks the requests by the number of votes, so you can prioritize which requests need to be filled first. Seems like common sense to me.

Like ajay said, its common sense. Its a VERY simple script so if you have a hard time figuring it out then you shouldnt be in this business to begin with.
The reason why you are allowed to vote multiple times is because not everybody has only 1 request, lets say I want a Law and Order Layout AND a Simpsons layout...I'm not too good at math but if my calculations are correct, thats 2 requests which is more than 1. Sigh...I am lost for words as far as the intelligence of some people on here.

Feature suggestion:
email field...
having requestor enter email so they can be notified when layout has been added?
