mkay.
i got to like no.5 for my main keywords and then today i dropped a spot.
now i've found:

a. i got to second page for default myspace layouts without even trying on google (how the heck did that happen?

b. i'm no.4 for default myspace layouts on yahoo.

why does yahoo like my site? i mean dang i ain't complaining its just really strange how i can just add a keyword to my title tags and get ranked the next day on the first page. it's happened every time i've done it?

how does yahoo rank sites differently and all that?

I've experienced the same thing. I do not know why it happens like that. I have just thought maybe I am a well trusted website or something.

I didn't even try =/ that's what i'm puzzled about.

Does anyone know whether yahoo goes by link in text too? Like if your anchor text is Default Myspace Layouts, I know that helps your ranks in google (if it's a hard link of course) but does it help in yahoo as well?

I'm upset that I dropped for the 'cartoon dolls' search term...i was happy to be right under thedollpalace.com - one of the biggest damn sites out there.

I have just thought maybe I am a well trusted website or something.
I actually thought of that too but it seems a bit too strange... ehh I don't know.

Google and Yahoo have different algorithms. Meaning they work differently. I'm not sure but say for example MAYBE on Google you need to get so many links with the keyword and so many title tags with the keyword and with Yahoo you need to get so many views of a page and so many clicks on a link. I dunno how they work, noone really does as Google's algorithm is very closely gaurded.
But basically, they work differently hence you rank differently.

^ Yeah I kind of figured that otherwise the rankings on both would be identical... people basically know how to do well in Google but seriously I can't find much on how yahoo works.

Default Myspace Layouts ... do you also rank well for the various combinations of those words.

A few months ago I ranked #1 for > bad credit personal loans on Yahoo < I was also in the top 5 for every combination of those 4 words + other terms like personal loans at #7 (60 million results) It was worth 10k a month to me while Yahoo kept me there ... then suddenly they were all gone as mysteriously as they appeared. I never changed one word on the site but since then they are nowhere to be found :(

Milk it while you can :balloon:

No I don't actually. I haven't even attempted to do any SEO except for adding 'default myspace layouts' into my title tags so whatever im not complaining :)

Wow, that sucks... yeah when I don't touch my site a lot of changes happen, but when I do make changes and stuff that should HELP my rankings it makes it worse or doesn't do anything at all. I've been getting even more links in with 'cartoon dolls' and 'dress up games' as the anchor text but I've DROPPED in the rankings which doesnt even make sense to me?

Maybe Matt Cutts isn't lying after all about actual good content helping more than it ever has in the past.

I hope so because I like to think I have good content but I don't have the SEO skills of others. Today I lost my ranking though and I'm not sure why so hopefully I regain that within the next few days...could just be temporary HOPEFULLY as that search term was bringing in a bit of traffic.

if you're going for default myspace layouts, you should move it first in your title tags. also don't use duplicate titles on each page. I would also lose the "cute link's" header for your link unit since it's not allowed. nice site and good luck with your rankings.

^ How is it not allowed? It's not like it says CLICK HERE! or GIVE ME MONEY hahaha

I'm not fully concentrating on default myspace layouts, my other keywords are more important but I was on the second page before and now I've been dropped and I don't know why cos I didnt even touch my site.

Thanks for the compliments though.

Look at the Adsense TOS the only text allowed directly above your adsense ads is Sponsors and Advertisements
