for the "average individual" to make... http://www.myspace.com/jackass2 I've seen layouts like this before like jack**** WoW, etc... but they are all basically a company, or some type of entity like movie promotion or whatever.
Do the companies or large marketing enetities etc have some special features available only to them to make these layouts or can anyone create the same type layout?
I'd like to do something similar for a website I'm running but have no idea where to start to try and attempt this layout design.

Look into "div overlays"
With them you can do just about anything..... This does look a little bit differnt to me though, as if MySpace did some support/tweaking. Maybe someone who is more familiar with DIVS can offer more advice.

i disabled css on that layout and it looks like they have a premium profile. you, however only need to do a div overlay to achieve a similar look.
my friend's profile, http://myspace.com/aprilzero has an overlay (unfinished). its designed to look like his blog, www.aprilzero.com

Ok I figured it must have been something in cooperation with myspace. However thanks for the lead on the div overlay, I'm gonna go do a little googling and see what I can find =p Thanks guys.

Well I got my overlay working, found a really great site that had a base layout to work with. I edited it a little to throw some grfx into the layout and I like it a lot. However, it doesn't display correctly in IE, big surprise right?
Anyway, do you guys know if IE simply won't display any type of div overlay correctly or does it just happen to be in the code I'm using? Thanks.

Ya, like at least 22,000 people according to downloads =p His site was one of the first in search for myspace div overlay. I love the design, too bad IE sucks!

Hey guys,
Took me a bit to find the overlay stuff myself when I first looked into creating something different. And I do think that some of these people have a different account.
Anyways have a look at how mine came out. http://myspace.com/live4soccer_com
Still working on it but once you get the hang of it then what a great feature!
