Are there any forums (such as the Marketplace) that you think similar threads should not show up in?

I think that the marketplace/freebies and link exchanges should not have this hack =))

I think they seem fine in all forums :) It's an excellent idea also, lets say someone is trying to buy something that there isn't many threads about, the similiar thread feature would allow us to find what we're looking for. :) Thanks for adding it Greg

Yes, since it advertises other people's threads in yours which you paid for. ;)

i agree with x_tasha on the link exchange one dont need to be giving away potential link exchanges and traffic :) the freebies one i don't see what it hurts since its just people giving away stuff for free so your not really loosing anything anyways

I knew the Marketplace would come up, but I'm curious what peoples reasons are. For every person that clicks to leave your Marketplace thread for a related one, other people will find your Marketplace thread from another. It will do nothing but increase the likelihood that people will find your thread from an older thread because face it, everyone looks at every new Marketplace thread if they're here for the Marketplace anyway.
But if the majority don't want it there, I'll remove it.

Yea i guess that is a good point there Greg, it might actually help buyers find your old sales threads that would otherwise be buried and could land people a few more sales from them

I like the idea of having it in the marketplace. It would possibly bring more sales to you if your MP topic came up in the similiar search.
BTW: I love this mod...always did when I saw it on other forums..
Thanks for adding it.

I vote that it should be in the marketplace.
I'm a buyer and seller, so I can see both points of view and think they are both great.
*Buyers - When you are looking for something to buy lets say a "Family Glitters" for example purposes. You found someone who made a pack and selling, but there's only 5 glitters in the pack. That's not enough! You want more than 5 glitters! So instead of having to search through hundreds of marketplace threads, just look at the bottom. While it may not always have what your looking for, the chances are high of it being accurate a good portion of the time.
*Sellers - Just as Greg said. When someone else is selling something similiar to yours, then you have the chance of YOU getting free advertisement at the bottom of their thread. It's a small price to pay to let someone else get their advertising done, as well. Kind of link a link exchange.
*Edit. Dang, too many people post while i'm typing. LMFAO

haha. Like I said, it would probably work fine in all the forums. I was just in the marketplace trying out this new feature to see what I could find, and I found threads from back in February and March that are still open. That means that your "old thread" could be brought back to life and maybe get a few more buyers.
