I think that we need a sticky for how the Rep system really works.

Example: 1box=10 points
And if we get a bad rep it goes down how many points??

I just think this needs to be set up so we know exactly what is going on.

I had 5 bars yesterday and today I have 3. I haven't received bad rep to make it go down. I was talking with someone and they have 229 points and 5 green bars. I have 295 points but only 3 green bars. That doesn't make sense to me.

Do points expire? If so when, how long do they last?

I think this will help out everyone!

That all depends on how many rep points you have.

The more rep points you have the more you give when you rep someone :)

I know that Greg has been cleaning the forums up and removing sections and such. Since rep seems to be based on individual posts/threads, I wonder if those threads are deleted, you also lose the rep associated with them.

I believe Greg posted several months ago that a box is worth 50pt (with the first block free). Seems that is right based on my rep.

I'll rebuild the reputation now.

I have already read that thread. thanks :)

I just think that there should be a sticky that show the formula of how the rep system works, so that we have no questions.

How do you view who as given you rep?

Your rep is based not only the the number of reputation points you have but also how long you have been here. How much rep you give is based on how long you have been here and how much rep you have. For instance, if I rep someone good or bad, it will either add or remove an entire green bar regardless of what level they are.

Each bubble takes a different # of rep points to achieve. As you get more bars it takes more rep to get more bars.

I think that the rep system got out of hand awhile back when everyone was "rep whoring" (I can't believe there is a name for it). I think rep should only be issued when it is deserved not because I just like that person.

I know I don't want green rep just because someone likes me. I would rather have it for a great idea I threw out there or something like that.

I personally don't like the Rep system. I think the Itrader idea on the other hand is a great idea :) Just wish it work would your buyer/seller doesn't post in the marketplace.

I wouldn't take the rep system too seriously if I were you.

Thank you, I always wondered that lol, Is there a way to view all reps you have been given?

Yeah, that's true Jess. I give rep if someone is really helpful [Julie for example] and if I think they did something good enough to deserve it :)

I'm not sure to be honest. I think you can only view a certain amount of them in your usercp :)

The rep system is like the "sticker" system when you were a kid. You got a sticker for a good deed you did. Here, you get a green rep for a good deed you do. And a red one for a bad deed.

On other forums I judge who I don't know, and want to do business with, by firstly their itrader and then their rep.
Mine went down by 3 or 4 bars too yesterday but I don't mind as everyone already knows I'm an a** ROFL
