I ***** and moan about a lot of things. but in the whole grand scheme of life, they're really not much to ***** about. As a mom, I absolutely love children, especially my own. so when I see photos like this, it breaks my heart.

it's things like this that make me realize that the things I ***** about are nothing in comparison to what others deal with. remember to take some time out of your busy day to count your blessings...

It's absolutely heartbreaking.

In this day and age there shouldn't be any human being dying from something like starvation. :(

i'm well aware of the age of the photo. unfortunately it hasn't changed much over the years in the sense that there is still a starvation epidemic

well i can understand why he would have walked away. its too depressing to try to help someone dying. it sounds cruel, but i mean seriously. the photographer also committed suicide 3 years later. That picture actually made me completely depressed and i am going to have nightmares now

sucks that kids have to go through that, there is plenty of food in this world to go around unfortunately most of it is tied up in bureaucratic and corporate bs.....well if i ever win the lottery i know where the first million is going :)

does anyone here do the child sponsor stuff? i just got around to it and sent in my stuff to sponsor 2 a few days ago

No that's wrong... if he wasn't depressed enough to develop the film and publish it, he shouldn't have been depressed enough to get the girl to the village.

"He said that he waited about 20 minutes, hoping that the vulture would spread its wings. It didn't. Carter snapped the haunting photograph and chased the vulture away."

Plus, he wasn't depressed enough to go accept his pulitzer in person...

anyway, i was just reading the wiki about him. if anyone is interested, here's the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Carter.
