basically no personal opinions/comments in the paid threads unless it's business related, or pm the person if you have issues...etc.

pookie
May 23rd, 2007, 09:42 PM

pookie

jeremy860
May 23rd, 2007, 09:50 PM
let me get this straight, you got warned because of a compliment?

lol wow.

Kasami2k4
May 23rd, 2007, 09:53 PM
prolly cuz compliments contribute very little, aside from feedback and just raises post count

jeremy860
May 23rd, 2007, 10:09 PM
ahh right...

hotmonkee
May 23rd, 2007, 10:10 PM
if it was a compliment in one of the paid sales thread, its against the new marketplace rules so it doesnt clutter up the thread basically. so to simplify, just stick to business q's and itrader for the marketplace. ;)

Well I was not the one that gave the warning but yes that is what it was for....many members here complained of their sales threads being littered with comments whether good or bad from non buyers making it harder for them to keep tract of who was actually interested. This rule was put in place in the marketplace like a week ago to help prevent that and keep the threads clean for the sellers.

Question for sellers.....does it actually bother you when people leave compliment comments in your sales thread without actually making a purchase......

If I woulda kept the post that said disney works were copyrighted and rob should watch what he put on there, maybe I wouldn't hae gotten a warning x.x

Warnings get removed as mods seen you are improving, or added as they think you are getting worse.

Also, 20% means 1 warning, just incase your wondering what that meanss.

What I think is funny is how you blacked out Precious' name but still left her post count lol....

I personally dont like that rule. Simply because I value other peoples opinions regarding a layout style or glitter style. I am graphically challenged, and to me all layout and glitter styles look the same. Therefore, if a designer in a thread gives a thumbs up on a layout or glitter, I really appreciate that.

I think the idea is to try and get people to use the designers forum if looking for feedback or C&C :)

No- I like it. I think it helps other potential buyers see the compliments from other people and helps them see that users on their site would probably like the graphics, since people posting in the thread are saying THEY like them.

Ditto!!!!!

Most of my buys are related to comments and compliments left by other buyers. I can understand that the seller would have a problem with someone bad mouthing, but I am sure that compliments would be welcome.

pookie
May 24th, 2007, 02:44 PM
well dang it, if that's the case, i want comments on my stuff too if it means nudging potential buyers off the fence to go ahead and buy

hotmonkee
May 24th, 2007, 02:53 PM
well that's the hard part. some of us dont like the negative comments if they are not buyers, but we're saying its ok to post positive comments even if you're not buying....isn't that a double standard??

or if you do buy and dont like it, thats what the itrader is for....or would it be ok to post in the thread if you DID buy and don't like it.

Kinda a hard one, i personally dont like the negative comments from someone who isn't interested in buying, especially from someone who doesn't buy at all.

I think that it should be left up to the seller. They pay the money to post there, they should decide what they want. If they don't want any comments posted, then they should state that. All they would have to do is put: "Comments Welcome, Leave the Negative stuff at the door. " Just as an example. If they receive a negative comment then they should tell a Mod so then it could be deleted. If someone wants to warn the seller of something like maybe be careful with Hello Kitty stuff or something along those lines, then they should PM the seller.
Those are just some of ideas I think that would help.

Thats part of the problem alot of sellers said they put that in their sales threads but people would still fill the thread with comments. There is nothing that says the marketplace rule will not be modified until it fits the needs of most of the sellers its more trial and error right now trying to figure out what works best for most members.
