I was talking about this in another thread and nobody can think of who the guy was. Here's the post:
That just rang a bell.
A long, long, long time ago someone from warrior forum was trying to pimp his products on DP. In fact, it was Nintendo that bought into it and tried it out.
In the end I believe that the DP thread making fun of him ended up being above his own site in G for his name as the keyword. So many people threw so much weight at this guy it was ridiculous.
This was a long time ago though. Before I ever signed up. Any of this ring a bell to anyone who's been there 1+ years?
Fryman and a few others knew exactly what I was talking about, but none of us could remember the guys name or the thread it originated from. What about you?

Oops! I accidently renewed that domain during a bulk renewal. Guess I have it for another year. :shifty:
Anyone want to tell me how to set the domain to the DP thread?

I use .htaccess
Options +Indexes
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=16409 [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^$ http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=16409 [R=301,L]
I think both of those lines would do the same thing. One covers just the index, and the other might do the whole domain.

Your registrar should have the option to forward it, which is the best way since it doesn't require anything on your end. If not, you can use .htaccess, php or a meta refresh (or a .js forward). For php,
<?php
header('Location: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=16409');
?>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=16409">

Yeah, I bought it when he was threatening you with all sorts of legal doom.
I had built up a dialogue with him via PM on DP and was gonna give it to him if he backed off but he took a hissy fit for no apparent reason and stopped all communication.
I can only guess that he learned I'd bought the domain and took a wobbly when he found out. :winkiss:
