can someone clue me in to what type of hosting I need to run a good proxy site.
tried on my current host and ate up a bunch of cpu,and theye got angry with me.

You'll need a dedicated server. I do not know of any shared hosting providers that tolerate proxies.

If it's a php proxy I could maybe host it for you, depending on traffic etc. I've got a proxy hosting server that's nowhere near max capacity.

thanks,looks promising. Do you know off hand if they have a cpu limit? all this confuses me I though as long as I had enough bandwidth I'd be good to go. Not even sure what CPU is.

I could run your proxy for you PM me i own www.coolmyspaceproxy.com and i had to change servers 4 times because each shared provider said they cant handle my proxy script or the bandwidth so i found a great hosting provider who set me up with a deal with unlimited everything and cpanel.
Just some advice check out my site and give me some feedback if you could i just setup advertising on the site and it runs openads and i was looking to have some input on the sites layout and everything.

lookup the whois info of proxy sites, maybe you can find where they are hosted

Well I am running a proxy on a wiredtree.com server just fine.
