I started off using Photoshop maybe a year and a half ago. I'd been previously using Paint Shop Pro which was okay but didn't have enough options and features, and it didn't save .jpg's as high quality.

Anyway, here are some of the layouts I've created over the past year that I think are alright. I went through a phase of using random models on my artwork and layouts, because some people don't like certain celebrities and artists so I thought random models would please everyone.

[by the way, smash3d.net was my old personal artwork site]

This layout was really strange. I had a boring style going and I wanted a change so I tried to make it look modern and unique. I guess I achieved that, never ended up using it. I got many comments on the 'pixel lady' (rofl) and how she made the whole thing look awkward, but I kind of like 'her'. :)

I made two different versions of this layout. I basically edited the layout to get the other one. I like the second version better. People said that the colours were too bright so I tried to use some more pale colours and lose the dirty, grunge look by taking out the brushes in the background. Not my favourite but it's alright.

I love this. It's not as complex as my other layouts but it's effective. I love that photoshoot so I decided to use a couple pictures. The colours are great and I tried to give it a more modern look. This is going to be the first layout for my new layouts and graphics site that I'm working on now :)

Extremely simple but it works. I love Lost, or used to love it anyway (personally i think the the latest season is absolute crap but whatever) and I found a pack of 200 screenshots from the pilot episode. I had to edit them and make them all high quality which took a while but the end product looks alright.

My most recent layout. I absolutely adore it. That is all.

As you can see, my style varies greatly. I change it every time I make a layout basically. I guess that's a good thing as there's always something different and each of my artworks are unique.

Sorry for the extremely long post, I love to show off my artwork :)

I was wondering that too! (about it being blue) haha.
There awesome jordan. I can't remember seeing any on your site though- lol. So I suppose they were the ones that were made when your site was revamping or something ?

I can tell your style. You have your own style, And i like that. You mix great texture's and brushes with vibrant colours. lol.

Sorry- that entire post doesn't make much sense.

btw- Have you worked on any vexels latley?

All your images are excellent. Some of the best original layout backgrounds I've seen.

The only piece of constructive criticism I have is, if these images were designed exclusively for layouts consider lowering the contrast on some so that the image can be appreciated in it's entirety.

When using these images in a layout I would want to make all the sections transparent so that the whole image can show through. When there is a lot of contrast in an image it makes it difficult to come up with font colors that can be seen over the image.

That only applies to a couple of these images. Overall they're superb.

Very nice.

As for the blue, all the first posts in this forum are shown on every page and they're blue to make it easier to see what's being showcased.

Nope. I gave up on them, I couldn't get them to look right and compared to the ones on vexels.net and deviantart, they are complete crap.

Thank you very much. I'll keep those tips in mind.

did you teach youself all of it?
