View Full Version : Creating Multiple Myspace Sites?

Hello all, I am totally new to myspace and am a late comer to recognizing it's potential for promotion and marketing. I really had no idea what could be done on myspace and frankly thought it was just a bunch of highschool kids.

So, now I'm playing catch up and have an interest in making a few accounts for possible promotion of websites etc... I was wondering if I could get a few tips for doing so. I looked thru the forums here and didn't see exactly what I was looking for so sorry if I missed a similar topic here.

I want to try and stay away from purchasing accounts cause I don't know who to trust and I want accounts that are on the up and up. Thats why I want to start my own. I'm aware of several programs to help things go quicker, but my biggest question I guess is creating the accounts.

Do you guys just post up fake pics, make a "character", set up a personality theme, etc... on multiple accounts and then start getting as many friends as possible? I can't see doing anything else as having a plain old profile with no pics I would think wouldn't gather too many friends.

Once I figure out if this is the way to do it, I plan to have several accounts targeted at certain demographics etc... Well, thanks for any input, much appreciated!

Yep, that is pretty much it. Put some effort into making the accounts look "real." You can find images anywhere but if you want to be safer, consider stock photos and such. It's a good idea to have multiple "candid" images though. Beyond that, filling the profile out with real world type talk and personality is important. Would also be a good idea to gear that personality towards the "demo" you are going for.

The other important thing is to take it slow. Build the account slower and more long term. The less "bot like" and "spammer like" your account looks and acts the better chances it won't be deleted. Which brings up another point, try not to get too attached to them heheh.

You can find a thread by Nintendo where he is testing and trying to figure out the limits which is a good read if you are going to "power build" but if you want safer, longer lasting profiles that you can build more naturally, you might want to take it slower.

Some people suggest you have a different 'personal' image for each account. Other than that, I just have two different backgrounds, depending on the gender of the account.

I've used some istock photo's any good sources for more candid looking other than trolling photobucket or something? Using someones pic without permission seems odd. I suppose I could take pics of myself with different wigs. :)

Is using photos from photobucket allowed? I know they are freely viewed and shared on photobucket but is there anything in myspace TOS to be concerned with? I never thought of that as a resource until now.

I went a step further and used photos of me dressed as a woman.

Just use photos you find from a search on Google Images. If your profle is about cars search for a photo with a person with his car...make it a good one lol, if it's a surfing theme find a cool pic of someone riding a decent wave.... don't get too hyped up about using someone elses photo for your profile LOL.......the whole things bloody fake anyway.

A tip if your send bulletins out, change the profile pic each time, then it doesn't look like the same person sending them out all the time which increases the chances of them geting viewed.

And use a simple name for your profile, like John or George, something that doesn't stand out, again for sending bulletins you want to stay in the background so people don't notice you.

When people spam me with bulletins it's the ones who stand out that I notice so I remove them from my friends straight away, I imagine other people do the same.

I don't delete them, some I ignore, others I read... I've found a few interesting things reading others bulletins....

I've even found a couple of MSRS sites I didn't know about..

For pictures, I use myself for male accounts, and for awhile I used a picture of my mom from back in the 60s, for chick accounts!! :D

I feel bad using other peoples pictures, so I try to use pictures of my wife and sisters/sister-in-laws midrifts. It works great, and they don't mind since nobody will know.

Ok, umm. I have a few fake accounts and I got a friend to help me find a very old female myspace account that hasnt been used in a year or so and I took the images from there.

The profile had nothing obsene about it, just a friendly college girl. A month later and it appears that girl still uses myspace on a diff account and found my fake account. She got auto-added and commented on me telling me to remove the pictures. I apologized & removed the images and now Im stumped on where to find pics.

I honestly thought no one would ever know. I even only added people who were in california and she lives in NJ. Geez. >.<

Guess that was just a bad idea. Anywhere I can buy the rights to images of decent looking girls? Definately nothing provacative. :(

Good idea. I kinda feel bad for the people too, but I guess it's also their fault. I shall use my sister's picture, my friends say she's hot.

It's not their fault at all. You can't think like that mate, it's not justified.

It's not always an individuals doing when their picture ends up on the Internet. Even if they put it up, they put it up on myspace, or their blog, or wherever they put it. They didn't put it up so that you, me or anyone else could extort them for our personal gain.

It's definitely not their fault.

Hey if any of you really need some good images that you can use without a problem use this source here. http://www.sxc.hu/
I use that site for a lot of things. Never thought about using the pictures for myspace profiles but hey I know there are some good photos of women and men on there and a lot of them you do not need permission to use.

Check it out it is a good source.

similar thing happened to me a few months ago.

i had some hot girl images that i obtained from the photographer who took them. he gave them to me for use in a design of a site i was working on at the time. a few months later i used some to create hot girl profiles on myspace. one of the accounts was 8k and all of a sudden it was deleted. then i checked msgs on my other account and apparently the girl whose pics i was using found the fake profile and complained to myspace and had it removed. she sent me a msg asking me to post negative comments about the fake profile.
