Hello everone,
In two days of research i have come to conculsion that gregs script is something i should buy to kick start some revenue from myspace.com
i have had a few emails with him but i still need some suggestions from other members.
basically i want an answer to these.
1. what other things do i need to buy inorder to support this script.
2. How much more money goes into this venture in order to make it successfull.
3. What other bots will i have to buy ?
4. Content to be bought?
5. Most importantly - what other marketing technique do i use to drive 2000 vistiors a day or say net around 10$ a day(profit and not revenue). this is not a huge target i am setting for my self intially.
6. how much time will it need to get to site to this kind of profit level.
i am new to myspace and all the help will be appreciated.

1 Besides hosting obviously, nothing. It comes with enough starter content to get you going. Of course the more content you add the more value you give your vistors so up to you how much more you add. Good thing is a lot of content can be found for free.
2 Not sure what you mean. But I guess same answer as #1. For the most part the only thing you will need to concentrate on after getting the site up and hopefully adding even more content is advertising. That is a completely open topic though and all depends on how and what you do.
3 bots? Are you sure you know what Gregs script is? I assume you mean bots to add freinds for myspace?
4 Whatever you want and think users will want. Can be anything from unique layouts (that you can buy, find free or even make yourself) to movies and games and such. Just depends on what you want. You can get an idea what other sites use just by looking at them.
5 This is just like any other site. The good thing though is myspace sites help advertise themselves because of the viral linking. The more people that use your resources the more free advertising you get. You can also help by trading links with other sites, doing some bulletin advertising and all that. With 2k hits a day and using Gregs script you will easily make $10 a day.
6 Besides adding conent as you get it, the main thing that will determine your sucess is how much effort and time you spend promoting/marketing. Its all reletive just like a lot of things and the more effort you put into it the better off it will do.
For the most part, as long as you can get myspace user traffic to your site, it's hard not to make money. Using Gregs MSRS myspace script makes it even easier since you make more per visitor than any of the other myspace scripts out there.

Personally, I've spent a small fortune but I guess if you exclude the new computer, sound card, and various other extras I blamed on Greg, it really does come down to just how much you can do yourself and how much time you are prepared to spend on the project.
If you are a lazy git like me and can't be bothered doing much promotional work or doing anything other than the absolute minimum maintenance on the site, you won't be hitting $10 per day from the script anytime soon.
If you concentrate on the script, add lots of content, promote it daily using a variety of methods, then you should see $10 fairly quickly.

The biggest tip I can give you is that if you buy, get involved in the community, you'd be surprised how much others with MSRS are prepared to help. (This is something you can't buy, this is a major value you won't find anywhere else)

I agree with MrGeek, tons of support here. I've already benefitted.

The support from Greg and the rest of the owners is the #1 thing about the script. Owners helping Owners is something you will not find anywhere else.
With the support of Greg and his crew there is no way yu can go wrong unless you dont use everything that is available to you.
It is what you make of it. If you want it to work then it will but it all depends on you yourself.
If your new to MySpace then fryman is the guy you should talk to. He can tell you the ins and outs of MySpace and how it can help you with your site.....LOL J/K fryman I couldnt resist....LOL
Actuall we all can tell you how. But you do need to familiarize yourself with MySpace and what it has to offer and how it will help you grow.

Thank you everyone for the information.
@scilynt.
by other bots i ment bots for adding friends and bullitiens and other things.
I am aware of the fact thats its the traffic that i need to get other than the scripts.
thats what i was asking you how much more money other than this script i need for promotion of the site.
i would still like to know which friends and bulliten poster that you guys prefer- bladderadder or adder bot or something else.
@ mcfox
i have the computer and other things all i was asking is money needed for promotions.
and i am a lazy git till the time something doesnt intrest me. once i get hooked on something then i live breath and eat it all the time.
So i think i have the experince and confidence that i will make it to 10$ preety soon( its not a a really huge target that i have set for now, will raise the bar once i get to this first). will keep you guys posted about developments.
@ MrGeek

@ PGZ

I'm glad you decided to join in. I've found the support to be one of the best parts about buying the script, too.
I had the computer, etc, but decided to buy a new one and blame it all on Greg if I got any awkward questions from my 'significant other' :shifty:

wooohooo. Rack another commission up for us!
lol jk ;). We definitely don't need to be paid to suggest Gregs script. In fact, the more "competition" out there with the same scirpt the worse it is for current owners. So that should go pretty far to explain what we really think of the script...even telling competition that they can't go wrong with it ;). Pretty sure you will like the owners community as well ;).
Welcome to the club!

I wouldn't worry too much (remember though this is my personal opion and I am not a lawyer), MySpace have sent Cease and Desist notices to some people in the past.
Those people are still operating under a domain name with myspace in it.
I have 4 myspace related domain names, 2 of them have myspace in the name.

I originally had mine on a domain with myspace in it but got scared early on and moved it. But after all this time and seeing the hundreds or maybe even thousands of variations that still have myspace in the url, I don't think it is something to worry about. But if you don't already have a great domain, then maybe consider it.

I've never had any problem from mspace and I've had myspacescriptz reviewed by the big G and the little Y at least a dozen times, and no problems there.
Like MrGeek said, I'm no lawyer - but my personal opinion is that it's AOK.

Hello all, I too have caught an interest in running a myspace site. I've been trying to determine what script to purchase lately. Greg's script is quite higher priced than most I've seen and I was wondering if owners could throw out a few things as to what it has to offer more than the others out there.
Just my initial impresssion of Greg, his commitment to the community and passion for his work indicates to me that the script is probably well worth the investment. But I'm also trying to really jump into the various scripts to learn what they offer.
Another question I had was just how customizeable is the script. I'd like to do a custom website design and get away from the default look, is that possible?
Any input appreciated!

Well, as you picked up on, one of the biggest draws is Gregs determination to make us all happy. Sounds kind of cheesy but rather than just get rich off selling slick scripts, he wants his "customers" to be rich as well and willing to grow with them.
There are tons of scripts out there and some others that are actually pretty impressive but I have yet to see a developer as involved as Greg.
Yes it is a bit more expensive than people are used to, especially those that use free/really cheap turnkeys. But if you get any kind of traffic at all to Gregs script, it automatically makes money. Not only does it have great ad integration but so many myspace users are so used to the crappy turnkeys that they flock to the MSRS sites. Not to sugar coat it, because it still takes time, effort and money to get going and you won't make money unless you can drive traffic to the site but it really is hard not to make money from the script and if you get a good amount of traffic, it will easily pay for itself in less than a month, easily.
As for customization, Greg coded the site to be used in "modules" which helps move things around, take things off you don't want and add what you want. There are limitations of course, but it is pretty customizable and there is supposedly a template system planned in the future sometime to make that even easier.
There may be other scripts out there with more features, integrated backend, and a crapload of crappy content...for even cheaper, but after using Gregs script and a few of the other scripts, the best converting site is Gregs, easily.

You can go and buy a cheaper script but then your pretty much on your own as far as support pf any kind.
Your time is worth something so doing it on your own is actually more expensive in the long run.
Here you have the guidence of the community as a whole and then the expertise of the Mods and Admins to walk you along the way.
It all comes down to what you really want.

All great input! I actually contacted greg a bit about a month or so ago over at the DP forums when I first got the interest for running a myspace site. I was about to buy it mostly due to my observations of gregs dedication and apparent outstanding work ethic.
I didn't follow up on it at the time as I've been busy with other projects but I'm taking it up again. I had just a couple other questions if you guys wouldn't mind answering please.
As for customization, being designed as modules, is it possible then to incorporate the script into a joomla design?
Is the script fairly easy to use as a novice with little experience in the myspace game? And is the site fairly easy to maintain and update?
Thanks again for the input all, it is greatly appreciated.

I spent some time with Mambo/Joomla and found it to be too poorly designed for me to play with it any more. This was probably a year and a half ago though, so I'm sure things are much different now. But from what I remember of it, there is little chance you can incorporate the script into Joomla itself. You can easily theme both to look the same though.
As for ease of use, it really couldn't get much simpler. To add content, you upload it via FTP and that's it. The most you'll ever have to edit is the navigation.php file to add new links and possibly the banner - but it's all extremely simple. And if you can't figure it out, I'll do it for you.
Welcome to the other side Rhab ;)
