Hello all

I moved over from a having a reseller package to having a VPS a couple of months ago. I have not yet managed to transfer all of my sites over as yet, so am running two sets of hosting.

The people hosting the VPS have excellent customer service (issues answered within minutes). However, I am finding that my sites are constantly going down and one error mesage or another is coming up.

I am not quite used to having a VPS, but wondered if this was usual? One of my sites is a business so it needs to be up 100% of the time (I have not transferred it yet).

On a separate issue, is there software to let you know when a site is down?

Thanks for your help

I had that same problem when I was on a vps. Once my site started getting 2k uniques/day it was crashing the vps all day long. I had to move to a dedicated, which I suggest you look into.

Thanks - I have decided to take up your suggestion and gone for a dedicated server

The best place to look for a dedicated box (in my opinion) is managemybox.com - fully managed dedicated boxes.
