My mom works for a patent firm - I guess. She has no legal knowledge, she just works in the human resources department. Anyway, she has been flipping out for weeks about me having Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. on the site. To me, I knew Fox would do nothing, maybe a legal letter, that's it.

She was flipping out about how if someone found out, she could lose her job, the company could get shut down. I was like 'mom, its an image of Bart Simpson'.

Long story short, she made me take down the hosting and since the domain was just mine, I guess I had the right to resell it. She agreed, and I got substantially less for the domain than the value of the site.

Whatever.

I don't get it.... why did you sell just the domain? Why didn't you sell the whole site? And who bought the domain? It is down and has been down for many days, why would someone want it if they weren't going to use it?

Any of us would of paid quite a good amount just to have it redirected to one of our sites.

Is your mom ok with you having a site (in general) if you just take off the copyrighted content? I guess it would be a pretty big pain in the arse to take out all the images that are copyrighted or are of trademarked images but could have been an option.
