View Full Version : Increasing Adsense Revenue (daily)
Precious

Well, back a few months ago I started making $3-5 a day with adsense. I thought this was awesome, but then I noticed alot of my hits were coming from www.fivehits.com, so they were actually pretty useless. So i removed my site from there and then I started making $.60 a day. Then I did some re-arranging of the placement of my ads and what not, and now i'm up to $1.70-$2 per day.
My question is, any tips on how I can get up to about $3.35-4 per day? With out spending anymore money. I have no money left to spend on advertising or anything of the sort... So what are some things you do that cost little ($3-5) to no money that increase your daily adsense?
I hope this makes sense... i'm tired and horrible at explaining things. I'll probably read this tomorrow and say "What in the world was I trying to say?" lol.

Adsense frowns upon traffic exchanges and bought traffic etc.
URL of your site might help.
Also for new sites I found http://www.stumblexchange.com/index.php increased the traffic quite a bit.
It free but a PITA

Try getting one of those little link blocks and put it in your menu; I've found the 160x90px one with 4 links works best on my site, so it should do well on yours too. :)

I thought your site was getting around 8k uniques a day?

I'm not talking about traffic, i'm talking about adsense income... that's what's decreasing.
And I don't even know what my traffic looks like anymore for my main site because statcounter stopped working for me 3-4 weeks ago :-/. But last it was at, it was increasing from 5k.

you should slap G analytics on there it can give you far more in depth stats, like top referers, entrance bounce rate, top content, and a whole lot more

What's that, and how would I go about getting it?

just wondering, I'm making over $30 a day in AdSense on one site with only around 4K uniques. $2 a day on 5K uniques seems realllly low to me.

just took a look. I'd add adsense to the top of your homepage. That typically generates better CPM. Also, on all your image pages, limit the number of images to 5 instead of 10. That could double your page views and increase rev. I'd also blend the ad background color to the grey instead of the black.

Okay, I think I did everything you suggested.... Did I miss anything? :) I think that did help some, because It went from 1.70-2 to 2-2.25 per day. :)
Anyone else? :)

What ad units are you using?
Are you blending the colours?
Have you blocked the low paying topsite ads at least?
Where are the ad units located on your page?
What is your CTR?

I'm sure with that many uniques per day you should have no problem generating more revenue through Adsense. They key is the traffic though, where is it coming from, organic?
Getting hits through popups doesn't even count as a visitor if you ask me, otherwise useless.

I'm not reallu sure what 'organic' is, but mine come from links on everyone's profiles, and etc. None through popups, and VERY (i'm talking 3-5%) come from baught links and link exchanges :-/

Oh, I have close to no search engine traffic, sadly. I only get maybe 2-3 uv per day from SE's. :-/

the big rectangle and small button formats work the best for me. I place the big rectangles at the very top and switch the buttons around every now and then around the more popular areas of the site.

It's been my experience that SE traffic converts the best for me, perhaps that's part of the problem.

I have noticed the exact same thing. Say someone see's my company's site on a profile tag, and then googles it, my site will be #1. Once they are in the site, if they click on an AD link, for some reason, it pays better too. Maybe I am hallucinating, or just plain crazy.

On one of my (Myspace) sites which gets most of it's hits from Yahoo search the ecpm has shot up over the last 3 weeks to well over $3.50 and is steady. Before that most of the traffic was coming from Google search and I was lucky to get $1.00
Wierd.

It may be coincidence but I don't think so.This site dropped out of Google in the dance but is doing really well in Yahoo and other engines.I am earning 3x the adsense revenue with half the visitors!

I'm experiencing the same thing.. 2 sites are completely gone from google, actually one site came back 2 days ago then dissapeared again.. but my adsense earnings have tripled... and yeah, i'm getting a lot of hits from yahoo.

I glad it's not just me then!!!!!!!!!!
I have never really looked into optimising for Yahoo but may do so now.
Just talking generally the results returned from Google lately (for any search term) are becoming more and more irrelevant.

Yahoo traffic has been excellent for me, I noticed that my eCPM has shot up $3 just in the last few days alone, and with this traffic my income has increased at least 50%. Not only that but they tend to browse the site more.

My adsense earnings was starting to go up the last few days with the same or less traffic then Yahoo dropped me for one of my keywords at the same time my site went up in rankings both in MSN and G for that same keyword but with the drop in Yahoo traffic my adsense eCPM went down.......don't make no sense to me but then again G does alot of stuff that don't make sense

I think it's because Yahoo traffic converts better. Weird, but I've read somewhere that it's true.

The Yahoo search engine is designed to favor commerce related sites while Google is targeted more twards information sites which is also why there are sometimes huge differences in the results you get when searching besides just the normal algorithm differences.

The only suggestion I would have would be to increase your sites traffic by 500 visitors or more a day and to play around with tweaking the colors for the ads maybe try Googles multiple palette feature to rotate randomly between different color palettes I have had a little success with that

the normal free ways, good link exchanges, promoting on myspace, working to increase search engine rankings (if you know nothing of SEO there are several good posts in the SEO forum now that will be lots of help)
Precious

Done all the link exchanges, etc... I've tried the promoting on myspace, but after all that crap myspace is doing, I gave up using them.

Well then I would suggest targeting some easy keywords and following the info in the SEO forum to get a decent ranking for another keyword phrase or two might take you a month but if none of the other stuff is working for you and you don't have money to buy high traffic links thats about all thats left.

yeah, getting a decent listing on search engines, specifically google, will help considerably. Getting quality traffic for free isn't really easy, and depending on where the location is that it's coming from, google may drop your page back 200 pages in the results. I know you said you don't have any money, but there's a couple decent, cheap, sources for traffic.... or direct adsense income. For traffic you could buy a link on a PR7 or 8 website through ebay. There's several large websites with listings up right now for a month long text link for under $70. Or, there's bloggergenerator (dot) com. A program that is highly profitable and generates blogs for you that contain your adsense code. I have, and do, personally use bloggergenerator. I actually outsouce to a guy in India who does most the work for me for $1 an hour, and I make several thousand a week from it. Occassionally a grand or so a day. Joseph Tierney just ran a sale on the program, but I think it's back up to $100 now. Once purchased, you get access to a private forum just for bloggergenerator and are able to learn all the tricks to it.
But, for free QUALITY traffic, your best bet is to get listed in the search engines within the top 2 pages of results. Good Luck.

Since your ultimate goal is more money, you really should decide if you want to devote your efforts to getting more traffic or just expanding your advertising horizons. Either method will have the same effect; it just comes down to how many ads you want on your site. A shameless plug, yes, but this company, Hydramedia (http://network.hydramedia.com/refer.php?id=11714), has cost per action ads where you can get $1.25 just for someone entering their zipcode. They pay just on the lead. I know someone making $500 day just from this company. I've got a lot of tricks I can give you if you PM me.
Also, you can ad inline ads from a company like Kontera; that will give you a nice cashflow boost. There is also a guaranteed way that you can be making an extra $30 a day if you want it. That's because adbrite interstitial ads have a $10 CPM, so since you get 3,000 visitors a day, that would be an extra $30 if you make sure that every visitor sees the ad. PM me if you want to discuss the details of how to set that up. This obviously goes for everyone.

Looks like you need to put some actual ads on your site, in places where people will click on them. Placement of ads is very key. And, I don't see adsense on your page at all?
