So far no problems quick response from Softlayer.
Just thought I'd pass on this link for some specials that the rep gave me while on chat with them.

Not to knock them as Im sure they are good but LayerTech is alot cheaper even with a 3rd party Management Company I see the servers I am using at over $100 more per month with Softlayer.

They had specials when I signed up. I received an extra gig of memory, free setup, and plesk for a decent price. Layered Tech's equivalent server had a $29 setup fee and 1 gb less of ram and no cp.
I just happy to move from The Planet. Mergers scare me service declines rapidly. I was hosting websites for 30 customers at Ev1 and didn't have any problems but I needed to upgrade soon.
I wish I could take the servers at my job. I built a sweet setup last year. Dell Poweredge 6850's, quad xeon 3.0ghz 8 meg of cache, 32 gb memory, raid 5 15k scsi, vmware esx server, dual qlogic fibre channel controllers, connected via silkworm to a emc cx300 san. wow that thing rooooocks. I have 10 servers on that one box running virtual and they all outperform any server i rent. Anyone do hosting like that?
