Obviously yahoo and google run different equations and weight different variables for the sites that they list, and in what order. But does anyone know in which ways exactly?

The reason i ask is because on yahoo, one of my sites list on the first page for things like "new myspace layouts", "cute myspace layouts", etc... and the 2nd page for "myspace layouts". However for google i struggle with keywords like this. Why is it that yahoo holds my site so much higher than google?

Any words on this matter would be great. Thanks in advance.

Google tends to favor more natural one way links from sites within your niche while Yahoo tends to still favor links from directories. Yahoo tends to lean twards more commercial type sites while Google tends to lean twards information driven sites.

Yahoo has a higher keyword density threshold than Google does. A good keyword density for yahoo is typically 6% - 10% while with Google it is 2% - 5%

Thanks for the info.

Not like i'm complaining, I have great keywords on yahoo. But any suggestions of things i can do to target my site more towards google? Even though i am higher up on most keywords on yahoo i still have more traffic from google, just because google has more people searching. So i would really like to focus on google rather than yahoo. My site is www.juniorslayouts.com

Do you think it's realistic to think i could rank high for terms like myspace layouts on google? I was on page 5 not too long ago but i think i fell back.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

If your domain is at least 6 months old you have a chance to rank well in G for competative keywords.
