View Full Version : We're moving offices!

Man I'll tell you... Some people are completely ignorant to the laws they are to abide by. I've been a landlord for a few years now and the first thing I did was study up on what my obligations and restrictions were as a leasing property owner. Apparently the gentlemen who we lease our office from didn't do that.
We came to find out he illegally entered the premises while nobody was here twice in the past week! Oregon State Law (where our offices are located) obviously prevents that, but also awards me one months rent each time he does that but more importantly, let's me out of the lease.
So we're moving shop from our current 1,200 square foot location to a newer smaller 350 square foot location. It might seem like a downgrade, but the new location is perfect for our needs. It's a professional office building with full amenities and some of the other inhabitants are web developers as well. There's a nice board room, cafeteria and copying and faxing for us as well.
I'll post pictures when we move in.

My office is my living room. I'm laying down on my red chaise sofa looking at my 40 inch Sony LCD. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I have an office in my house, and a computer set up for my almost 4 year old grandson. It's great except he wants me to go outside and work around the house planting trees, mowing, bruscutting etc .... worse than the wife lol.

I'll get pictures soon. We'll be out of here on Saturday and hopefully we'll just move straight from here to the new place.
As for amenities, the new facility has a board room free for us to reserve and a full kitchen, bathrooms, included cleaning service and two very large common areas for people to wait, relax or whatever in. The best part is the elevator, I would hate to have to lug the office furniture up a flight of stairs :s
I'll get pics tomorrow.

I think size matters as well. I always disliked small offices where. Open space makes me feel so much more comfortable a work, whether my living room or the office ...lol

Professional look is always good for visiting clients. The boardroom and cafeteria is a good look as well. Sets the tone with employees as well. Much better then gathering around desks that pple tend to sit on and spill their coffe on ur keyboard and paperwork(((FLASHBACK.... FLASHBACK))):2guns:

Sounds like you guys are doing great, and i'm sure being in that new but smaller office will be short-lived. Once myeeos starts, hiring will be sure to follow (along with a substantial revenue increase we hope!). Best of luck to you in the new office!
On a side note... I feel your pain with the leasing/rental agreements. RHA (renter's housing association) has rules such as the ones you listed about landlord/tenant agreements, etc. Let's just hope that you get what's coming from the old one, and that no sensative information was lost the intrustion.

We're in!
I wasn't sure it was going to happen, but we're finally in the new office! As of right now I'm sitting in the new office and we have temporary internet courtesy of Clearwire until our cable company provisions the building (hopefully tomorrow, but we'll see how that works out...).
The internet here is crazy slow (256 up and 1.5 down :(), but I might just be spoiled. Once I find my camera I'll take pictures.
It's going to take me some time to get caught up on messages and emails, so be patient with me as I plug back in to the hive mind that is myspacepros.

Me and my parents had landlords like that in MI. Theyd try to coax our dogs out of the house and call animal control on them. Our dogs were quiet and stuff, they just didnt like dogs. If I seen them now, as an adult, I would probably punch the chick square in the face with a ring on, and bag the guy in the nuts.
