I am an artist on Myspace. I work really hard and average from 300 up to my max of 1700 plays a day. I have around 15k hand added friends.
I am seeing artists with 40,000 friends get 20,000 plays and 2 comments
Or artists with 7,000 friends and a 1,000 plays..it is just not real.
But I would like to know how they are doing it and not getting caught?
No I dont want to fake my plays..but I would like to know what these fake artists are doing.

I saw that..but isnt there a huge risk of getting deleted using that?
Its so frustrating. Recently I saw an artist who averages less play then me who has nothing new on their page start to get over 1000 plays per day and even climbed into the top charts. BUT they have only around 5000 friends. And about 10 comments. Its not real! But do the labels see that?
No they just see numbers and its so annoying.

Labels see everything, they're not stupid. The plays will come by themselves if you're any good.

Plays do come Sergio..but they dont come as fast when you are doing things legitmately and not using bots to rack up hundreds of plays a day.
And yeah alot of times labels dont see it like it is. I had one very talented collaborator say he had also considered someone else because she got so many more plays then me. Yes she did ..she was getting 20,000 plays a day and had 40,000 friends but only getting around 2 comments a day!!! He didnt realize she was faking it..because hes not aware of the tricks some artists play. Labels are not always Myspace savvy either, though I did meet with a major that was paying someone to add friends for their artist.
But to use bots and end up in the top 100..and then be able to pull in alot of people..its very frustrating to the legitmate artists out there to see that.

Well when someone adds a song to their profile, and people visit their page, doesn't said song get played and increase plays?
Maybe a few people with tons of friends had it , yeah?

Some artists buy popunder traffic, probably in the hopes of attracting new fans, but I'm guessing all that comes from it are "fake" plays.

No Kasami when someone adds a song to their profile it does not count towards the artists plays ..the only time it would is when they add the artists entire song player which is illegal.
I have not heard of popunder what is it?

Basically like a pop up, but it's under the page, hah.

Blocking comments, probably.

Why would they block comments?
It is unreal for an artist to have 40,000 friends and get 20,000 plays average a day..unless they are using something I would just like to know what it is. They had 2 spam comments on there page..so why would they block real comments. It makes no sense.

i figured i'd chime in on this since i'm selling a script that does exactly this. i'm not saying it's right to use a script to fake your plays and i'm not saying it's wrong either. so many artists on myspace do it, those who don't maybe should to even the playing field.
and yes, record execs do look at the plays on people's pages as hard as that is to believe. heck, one of the bands i used my script on was contacted by recording companies the NEXT day after i boosted their plays considerably on their page. they eventually signed a recording contract with their plays based on a script. so that throws out the theory that record execs know when the plays are being faked. record companies aren't as smart as you give them credit for.
myspace is kinda like the new mtv. they control what is popular and what isn't in a sense.

How does your script work? And cant that get artists deleted if they are caught?
That seems very risky.
Also since the plays arent real what happens when they try to make it in the the real world with fake plays and fans?

I've been using it on one artist page for over 6 months and it's never been detected nor have they have been deleted or warned or anything. I've used it on a few others as well without a hitch.
And in case you haven't noticed there are a lot of popular bands with no talent that have made it in the real world.
The band I was speaking of though is semi-talented. They just wanted to get their foot in the door and that's what my script did for them. They've just released their first CD and are now on tour with a major A-List rock band. They're doing just fine and they owe a lot of it to me and my script. They also hooked me up with a fat bonus when they were signed, hehe.
