I'm putting some final touches on a new generator and wanted some feedback. The generator allows the user to create their own custom t-shirts.

BETA: [TShirt Generator (http://www.blingpixie.com/Generators/TShirt/)]

So....

Should I add more symbols for users to select from? If so which ones.
Currently I only have one font. Should I add a couple of more (even if it makes the end product larger?)
Got a catchy slogan to use as the default?
Would you be interested in a best shirt contest for a free version of the gen?

Thanks as always. Based on feedback, I should have this in the marketplace in a couple of days.

I would suggest - use only one font. But put more symbols like a pc monitor (for geeks), guitar, etc.

Yeh that would be a good addition, also, maybe some sports symbols? Also, if you meant it increases file size, I agree, one font is best.

So do we design in PSP or flash?

Wow, thanks for all the comments. I'll probably add around 10-15 more designs/symbols based on feedback.

Tiff, All the design is done in flash. I just took some screen shots of the shirts I made in the flash gen to use as samples for the thread.

pretty cool generator...but why would someone want to put a designed tshirt on their profile...wont it look like they are trying to sell tshirt designs?

If it does look like it's for sale then whocares? It doesn't make a difference. I think it's one of the best of these image generators and could prove quite popular.

its pretty cool....I think captionbubble.com dwarfs it by far however.

I say definately go for more fonts.

Not everyone has the same taste in fonts and i love the fact that your other generators have such a large choice.

I assume that is your site. :) Pretty nice, I've programmed something similar to that a couple of years ago. I have a couple of generators that allow users to submit their own images, but it kind of scares me with my advertisers and their statements about user generated content. All it would take is one hardcore/illegal image to really mess everything up. Do you monitor your images to prevent this?

wasnt being rude..just a tactic to plug my site. Its actually a pretty good generator...I mean im really not into all these generators I personally think they are useless...but its all about what brings traffic to your site right? If it boosts traffic ill hop on board and purchase it. What really pisses me off though are them flash clocks...like wtf would anyone need to put a damn clock on their profile? Do they want to show their friends the time? The time is displayed on the lower right toolbar why cant they look at the time there?

nsmchris...Do you have a link up of your old app? would love to check it out

and yes we do monitor the images...we plan to have a flagging system soon.

I do a lot of flash learning activity development for course management systems. One of the apps is an interactive hotspot app which lets an instructor import their own image and "paint" hotspots on it. Each hotspot is given its own id and text. The teacher then selects a bubble style and then exports. The flash creates an xml file that is then used by the flash viewer app. The view then reconstructs the bitmap imagemap and then dynamically puts the popup bubbles in the appropriate section of the image as the student rolls over them.

I had another app using the flickr api that would allow ppl to make jigsaw puzzles using flickr. After it got somewhat popular, Flickr got a complaint from a user that she was able to use her copyrighted images in it. They said that I would have to use their authenication API to have ppl login to use the app. This totally baffled me because it was their api that provided the image in the first place. I ended up just removing the flick api for that app.

ah well.

Very few people answered your questions as you asked LOL:

Should I add more symbols for users to select from? If so which ones.

Yes, Football Logos maybe, some kinda logo? Love and star is good for defaults, use more basic shapes maybe (photoshop shapes)

Currently I only have one font. Should I add a couple of more (even if it makes the end product larger?)

Yeah, add a few fonts, not too many tho.

Got a catchy slogan to use as the default?

No...lol

Sounds good, but me personally. No. I'm no good at that cartoon-vectory style drawing if you mean design the actual shirt from scratch like those.
I like the sports shirts idea though! :D

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm added many new symbols. I'm going to have 5 different fonts (dynamically loaded so it it low on bandwidth).

About the contest, It would be the best tshirt made with the generator. So pick the colors, fonts, symbol, add some catchy saying etc...

Cool. One thing I have noticed with your generators, is that they load a lot quicker, which is awesome if you have to show more than 2 or 3 gens on a page.
