recommended tags on layouts?

what all should be tagged and how should it be tagged?

i got my url on the image in the contact table and the ext network image

how is the background tagged? just place the text on the image in photoshop? or is it better to have a button in the top left like many others do.. the prob with that is most people i have seen just remove the button

On backgrounds that repeat a tag looks ugly, but it's OK on one that's just in a corner or something.

Yea my contact table and network have a plain little tag of my url. But my backgrounds that aren't repeat are like SHABAM!!!
