After PGZ's site was banned from Myspace http://www.myspacepros.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3563&page=7
I think we need to take some drastic action to ban swear words in our flash generators.
It seems it can be done but I'm no expert.

Any feedback?
Thanks

No point.
If someone wanted to sabotage you , you are done by whatever $7/hour myspace staff as they please.

this is horrible, I was worried about something like this happening with people writting crazy stuff with the gens. makes me wonder how many sites are they planning on banning and what other reasons they are going to take against MSRS sites to block.

I was going to write out a huge post about this being pointless as a flash developer. I decided to settle with the "It's pointless, trust me"

I had the glitter text generator on my website, and removed it after I found some xrated glitter texts on my server.

Best thing to do would be to send a message to myspace PRIOR to release of the generator informing them that the messages aren't from you but generated by the user as in a normal comment just with added effects. It would be different for generators that DO host the message on your server. Luckily most are dynamic.

You can include a bad word filter in your gen if you made it yourself or the developers can be asked to update thier generators to include this

Oh geez... not another thing to figure out. Too bad filtering isn't possible.
What's to stop some jealous competitor from creating images/flash with profanity, tagging it with your site, linking it to your site and spamming MySpace profiles with it?
