I've decided to start selling sitewide text links on http://www.MySpaceLayoutSupport.com. It's a PR5 layout site that's currently getting around 20,000 unique visitors and 65,000 page views per day.

Your link will appear in the "HOT Sites!" section on the left side nav bar. There are 6 links total and I'll sell them on a first come, first serve basis. I'm running this as a test, so the first round of sales will be at a reduced price for webmasters that are willing to share their referral stats/results with me.

Based on previous link statistics from the "Related Links" section, the #1 text link in "HOT Sites!" should generate 500+ visitors per day for that advertiser. At one point I was seeing 600+ referrals/day to pimp-my-profile.com in that position, but I hesitate to guarantee a specific number. Naturally, each position will get a bit less traffic than the one above it.

This traffic is as targeted as you can get for a MySpace resource site and I've established a loyal following of visitors coming back to my site, hungry for fresh content.

Here's the initial pricing:

Position 1: $30/week
Position 2: $26/week
Position 3: $22/week
Position 4: $18/week
Position 5: $14/week
Position 6: $10/week

I'm only doing this for a week to test results. If everyone's happy and it works well, I'll look at selling links month-to-month. I reserve the right to approve/reject advertisers based on your site's content.

If you're interested, you can reach me on msn messenger via myspaceghetto.at.hotmail.com

OR, by email at myspaceghetto.at.gmail.com

OR you can always just PM me here on myspacepros.

I'll try out position 1 for a week.

Edit. Actually I'll take position 6 as well if they don't fill up fast enough. Would make it easier to compare the difference in click throughs for you ;).

I rearranged the left nav bar yesterday (or was it the day before? I don't know... my days all start to blend together) to give the links section more visibility, so that should've helped with referrals.

I'm getting interest in monthly link sales, so I'll probably go with that. Pricing is still up in the air, though. One thing I'm considering is a flat price for all 6 links and randomize link order with each page load. Anyone have thoughts on that? Or is the current setup with tiered pricing and fixed position the preferred way to go?

As a side note, anchor text seems to have a significant impact on click-throughs (secondary to link order, of course). One thing I'd like to test for a day or so after this first week is using site names rather than keywords for anchor text. Keywords, while good for SEO, can be a bit limiting if you're using something like "MySpace Glitters" but your site has gobs of other quality content that people might be interested in. Anyone who doesn't care a lick about glitters will pass on your link and miss out on your killer layouts (or whatever else you've got). Site names might generate more curiosity clicks... but then again, it's just a theory at this point. I could be dead wrong. If we do go the direction of site name links, I could probably give sitewide keyword links in another section for SEO as part of the package. I'd be curious to hear some feedback...

What was everyone's referral stats for yesterday?
