I have finally got things straight and the automated system is in place and the time has come to open it up.

There was a waiting list for my other site but when I PMed people about openings they would say just pass them up cause they didnt have the money now. Saying as my time is valuable I dont have time to be chasing people down or reminding them to pay.

This is first come first serve and is fully AUTOMATED. If you dont renew your link will automatically drop off and an opening will appear on the site and anyone can hit that opening and go through the process and the link will be up as soon as payment is made. While you are going through the process the link will show pending so no one else can claim it until I approve or disapprove the request. Once I approve the application you will get an email telling you what to do next. Make sure you use an email that is valid and that you check often.

There are 2 sets of Links available. The top links in the Nav Bar up top that say Advertise Here $125 per week and $400 a month and the at the bottom of the index there are another 6 that are ALOT cheaper $30 a week and $120 a month BUT they are only on the main index page and arent sitewide as the Top links are Sitewide.

The prices are listed on the site along with the stats.... When you click one of the positions that say Advertise here. Remember this site is HUGE and gets ALOT of traffic. I advertised on MySpaceSupport and I paid over $1200 for the month for another site and they get what they say 160,000 Uniques a day. If you take these prices in comparison to that this is a deal.

Remember also. Your objective is to build traffic and get your links on MySpace which will bring in more traffic. If you think the traffic sent will make you enough Rev to cover the cost of the link you just bought then you are looking at things in the wrong light.

It might do that but if it doesnt you are still building traffic and links from MySpace.

I will tell you this. This site DOES NOT concentrate on Layouts and I get massive emails asking for them. The only Layouts on the site are the ones that were there and then maybe a couple others. But this isnt this site Niche so I think someone that has a Layout site will do quite well.

I did contact through PM here and email the people that have links on my one site about the site opening Link sale but only one person has contacted me back and is now going through the sales reg.

www.CommentYou.com is the site. Already 102,126 Uniques today with almost 2 hrs left in the day and if you look at the site at the very top center under Add Us as Friends you will see a number under it. That is the actual # of people on the site. That number isnt inflated and is a live number.

If you have a link pending and fail to pay after 4 hrs your pending link will be cancelled and opened back up for someone else to purchase it.

How much estimated uniques would it send me for the top sitewide spot?

PGZ

Jeremy I really stay away from that question cause what happens today may not happen tomorrow.

Saying the site DOES NOT concentrate on Layouts but only Comments and some Generators. It really depends.......All I can say is your link is exposed to over 100K Uniques per day and if they click it then cool if they dont I cant control that.

I wont give you a number and then you not get it. Your tag controls alot of what happens.

Did you even take the time to READ my post...........I just OPENED up links sales. Saying I just opened it up this means this is the first time I have sold links on this site so how can I get past advertisers to tell me what they have got when there hasnt been any ????????????????????????????????????????????

I do not appreciate the idea that I of all people on this site is HIDING something rob.

I thought you were going to email down the list of those waiting from the other sales thread. You mentioned that first those already on would have the option to move then you would go down the list...

Oh well, I'll try to jump on if there is an opening sometime.

PGZ
March 16th, 2007, 03:38 AM
After going down the list with no replies or just skip me replies I just opened it up cause I dont have the time to be waiting on replies for days on end.

So do I sit back and wait for replies and not go live with this or do I just wait 1 day and open it up. I emailed the people that had existing links and then went down the list to the point that the top 6 slots would be filled here. I got one reply and he is #1 on this site. All the others didnt reply so I opened it up. I cant wait a day with one reply and then keep going down the list so I could wait again for another 2-3 days before I got responses.

I would be here for 2 weeks trying to get people to reply and still wouldnt fill the links up.

You have to understand that Ron. You have a PM also.

Your link is at the bottom of the index page and isnt sitewide this was detailed in the initial post that it was only on that 1 page.

I put those there for people that couldnt afford the main links.

Can someone that has a link at the top of the site that is sitewide post the details they have gotten thus far.

Yup I know that I was just putting up a post letting others know how the link was doing so far. I am sure I would be getting some really good traffic if I had gone with the sitewide but dont have that budget at the moment.......hopefully though I can snag one of those in 2 or 3 weeks though :)

PGZ, if you have an automated system, you may want to consider implementing a waiting list (it would contact the people when a spot opens).

PGZ
March 16th, 2007, 08:27 PM
PGZ, if you have an automated system, you may want to consider implementing a waiting list (it would contact the people when a spot opens).

I have found that a waiting list really doesnt work. Most people contacted on the list say they dont have funds or arent interested any longer.

If someone is truly interested they can just check the site and see if anything is available. The automated system was created so it didnt take my time dealing with it 24/7 as it did before.

Though making that automated sounds good what if they dont respond ? How long do we wait ? 1 day ?

So if 10 people dont respond we hold the link up 10 days and empty.

By leaving it the way it is now its really whoever wants it and is 1st come 1st serve.

Oh yeah 130,771 Uniques and 789,938 PageViews today at 11:29pm EST

The counter is from MyOnlineusers.com and is just code I put on my site. The same code is at top and bottom. Those numbers change everytime you refresh. If they showed 2 different numbers then its beyond me but you can always go to this url and see the actual people online on the site compared to others that are using this counter.

Hi, well thats great PGZ, sure i understand that! :)

But the buying prossess is kind of hard, some of us dont have time to just sit all day long PGZ to wait on a opening spot! Im really like this site http://www.ugoto.com/promote/ a humor site, but take a look at their prossesing on selling links!

You chose a spot the, duration (7,14,30) days.. then you get up a link estimate time:

The next available campaign is Mar 18, 2007.
Your campaign will run for 14 days, ending Apr 01, 2007.

Then in the meen while your costumers = US! Pay so your sure about the spots beeing fully FILLED!
So maybe you could have 1 top SPOT only one link, you track those hits, then the menu links + main page links!

Meaning you will have 3 advertisment places!
After few months of tracking click throws then you can say something like this:

Menu Links, Receives on average of aprox 300-700 clicks per day*!
(Because you have statistic that show you that.. )

WOULD BE NICE AND I WOULD DEFENTLY BUY ALOT OF ADS! + i think that not only me but alot of people here, if it was alittle easyer to do that! :/

Well apparently you have the time to sit here all day and bag him to change his system ;)

I dunno, the reason I like it the way it is, is it gives us poor people a chance to buy spot once we have some money. If it was the other way around, most of the rich people would have the spots purchased for like 6 months straight at a time and then noone else gets a chance to advertise.

PGZ

The system will not change unless neo wants to pay a coder to make the softwae specific for my site. Saying I doubt he will do that then the software used now is fine and it does what I PAID for it to do.

I cant say when someone will cancel. I dont know if someone will renew and if so how long.

If I lose customers cause of the software I use to sell the links then so be it. They didnt want the link bad enough to begin with.

I agree the system is fine and most of the people that complain about not having the time to take 2 seconds to check the site for openings now and then are the same people that somehow have the time to sit in forums doing nothing but browsing and replying to posts for and hour or more each and every day...........so while your here in the forum running around just take 2 seconds to swing by the site

Is there any possibility of you opening up additional ad placements on the site? We are very interested in advertising both SafeProfile.com and ProfilePolls.com on your site. We are willing to pay on a CPC basis as well, $.01 to $.02 per click depending on traffic quality. Based on what your existing sponsors are saying about CTR, this should give you a bit more money for each link position.

PGZ if someone cancels after the 15th of and odd numbered month could you please hack into my bank account and let me know if I can afford it and then give me a discount, but please check every thread I post first to see if I am wavering on this decision. Please send a confirmed email after the fact and I will notify if all this needs reversed. Also since I haven't read the entire thread, could you summarize it in spanish for me? I don't speak spanish yet, but I think it will be good practice.

Ok let me give EVERYONE some advise............This goes to EVERYONE to so pass it around also.

Yesterday morning I started getting emails from members saying anything from my site wouldnt work on MySpace so I tried using some comments and I got a MySpace error page. Nothing abnormal has happened before quite often. I went to another one of my sites and posted a comment and it worked. So I go back to commentYou and still nothing. I sat there for an hour trying to post a comment from the site and noting would work.

As I started tearing the code apart and got rid of all the things that said CommentYou.com in it out it finally worked.

MySpace had Banned the domain. At the time I didnt know why cause I send out ZERO Bullitens and dont spam with messages.

The only thing I do on MySpace is accept request and then Comment them. The traffic maintained all day yesterday just fine even though there was trouble. I had a copy of the site made on a new domain and had a VERY GOOD Friend of mine do a 301 redirect from CommentYou to CommentYou2 and all was good and running like a champ.

Last night about 11pm something happened to the server not because of traffic but because of an enternal problem that they are still working on.

For the life of me I could understand why MySpace would ban my Domain...It bothered me cause I am one of the Good guys of MySpace and report all hacked accounts ect.

Today I got a message from a member on MySpace that isnt even on my friends list with a reply she had got back from MySpace about the time my Domain was banned. She forwarded me the message she has sent MySpace about inappropriate images.

It was a comment that someone got from my site that had the word F-U-C-K in it.

MySpace Banned my domain cause that comment came from my site. No questions asked............No warning ..............No Nothing. BAMM GONE.

I advise everyone that if you have ANY comments that have vulgar stuff in them REMOVE them ASAP cause if it can happen to me it can happen to anyone here.

Once the server issue is resolved things will be back to normal here but the past 2 days have been my most trying times since I started doing this.........

Learn from what has happened here and dont let it happen to you.

One complaint and your gone............

Once the server issue is resolved I will refund said monies to the people that have the links.

You have no clue how pissed I am over all this.....................

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well you could either use the banner generator and generate a lot of traffic or you could be safe and take it off. Personally you have to take the risk on it.

Most of the websites have generators where a user can write any text. So anyone can post swear-words and blame the website. The case should be taken up with myspace. It puts most of the mspros webmasters in danger.

minnseoelite
March 21st, 2007, 10:21 PM
Yes its not like we can run around to every persons profile that uses stuff from our sites to check and make sure they are not using text generators to write swear words.

I think if you could prove it to myspace that the graphic does not exist on your site and was user generated they should un ban your domain......but then again myspace tends to think msr sites are generally bad and that we are all just a bunch of spammers. Personally I think myspace should be blocking all the porn spam yet those types of spam seem to be increasing while myspace looks the other way

I actually mentioned in another thread a couple of weeks ago about MySpace bringing in new systems to ban accounts and sites.

For a start don't use anything for your URL but a .com, most .info's and .biz have already been filtered.
I really didn't think Myspace would filter resource sites but this is proof that they have started. I think that maybe the f.u.c.k. word may have bought the site to their attention but that wouldn't be the reason it was banned. That word and others appears in a lot of stuff on Myspace.

A good time to start looking at other niches and a reminder to not give up your day jobs.

money_train
March 21st, 2007, 10:57 PM
this is really risky. this could happen with anyone.
now removing all the generators would do nothing but drop the traffic.

i am sure we need to start looking at other niche and day jobs.

now have just uploaded tons of insult glittters that i bought on various packs here on MSP and the momma insult glitters as well am not sure what to do with this.

is it a good idea to remove all the generators and insult glitters from the site.

its a pitty that on side a site like commentyou.com is getting banned and on the other hand porn site and affilates are spamming myspace like crazy and they make there working model does not mind getting domains or accounts getting banned. they will just make new ones

this is really sad.

sorry about your loss PGZ this is a another eye opener for all of us going all out to make our myspace resource sites propular.

i will rework my efforts and investments on this niche for sure.

Lets see how things turn up in the next couple of weeks.

Man that is bs. As mentioned, contact mashable and see if he will write about it. Also get someone to write up about it on the blog here.

Might also be helpful to have users email myspace pissed off about it. That's what happened when myspace tried to ban youtube but they unbanned it because of the outcry from users. You should have enough users that it would get some attention if they were sending messages. Just post a nice big "help us" message on the homepage...of course when the site is back up.

They just banned one site/app recently and it was talked about in the New York Times so at the very least, you could get some nice free (well kind of) exposure from it. And if you can get them to unban the domain, then it might end up being worth while in the long run.

You may be right, it may not even have been the image itself that was the final straw for them (did they tell you the specific image BTW?). Maybe they have a ton of resource sites on a hitlist to add to their ban list but the complaint just brought yours to the forefront?.

I would keep giving them **** (uhoh...gonna get banned now heheh) though and try to work your way up the ladder. Just let them know you will send your 100k uniques to another competing community. Yeah, they may laugh at it since that 100k is generated because of them but who knows.

Really does suck and pretty scary when you realize how easy it is for them to pull the plug. I've taken most of the naughty images/comments off my sites already because of request from google and valueclick but doesn't seem to take much.

Mine is banned too!

And guess what - it doesnt matter what you do!

Why?

I can easily take a graphic, write "**** you" on it, tagg it with whoever's site and spam it everywhere linking back to their site!

This opens up sabotage on everyone's sites, bad move by myspace (makes you wonder who they are in bed with) :shuriken:

this is horrible news. i am sick to my stomach even reading this.

one thing you might have to watch out for, PGZ, is the fact that whoever is using your content, if they decide to edit anything in their profile, everything with the domain name will be filtered out. meaning the user will have to either logon on your site again to get the content, or delete the code. this might hurt you as people start editing their profiles. but i think you have a big fan base, i see your stuff EVERYWHERE on people's comments.. so i know for a fact you have a big fan base. you should recover from this in no time.

i don't believe it could be profanity that caused you to be filtered... it HAS to be something else. If you look at all these myspace music sites, especially the hip hop artists, none of the profanity is filtered out... furthermore, you can even ADD their music to your profiles.... so i don't believe you got banned for profanity. it HAD to be something else.

that totally BLOWS that they didn't even give you a reason or warning... TERRIBLE, just terrible. if you ever find out, please, let us all know.

I have been discussing this with a person who has an insight into Myspace and what they are doing and planning to do. He has just about always been right before.

It's not issues that are the problem, MySpace are flat out going after any site or person they deem is making money from MySpace. Banning URL's is a hell of a lot quicker, easier and cost effective than taking the Legal route.

It's better for us that they are doing it this way, if your clever enough or have the right contacts there are ways around it.

Well my redirect works fine and people really dont even notice that it says CommentYou2.

The server issue is what bothers me more so then this with MySpace. It seems there was a DOS attack on the network is a certain Pod in which my server happens to sit. Though they say it has been resolved mine and many other servers are still affected by what happened.

I have contacted MySpace AGAIN about the banning and took the day off of my reg job to try to get all this **** straight.

What I dont understand is why MySpace would do this to my site and leave the other BIG sites alone like sexilove.com

The stuff they have is far more worse then anything I would ever put on my site. I am getting hundreds of emails from users asking what is happening and why the site is so slow.

Traffic yesterday was down 56,000 UV and 350,000 PL cause of the server issue.

I would like to get a hold of our resident MySpace employee to see if he can see what happened here with this bogus banning of a VERY LARGE site.

Sky I cant remember his name...Do ya wanna pass that on to me please.

Also I am working like a ***** here to get all this resolved.....Grrrrrrrrrrrr

If they ban your site it's still possible to remove the backlink code and have your images displayed or to just use a redirect. At what point in time though do they start coming after sites?

Is this all because of those two hackers saying they will start exposing bugs in Myspace 1 per day? Honestly I think thats a pile of crap and that's just an excuse for them to regulate the content on the site. Now that Myspace is the property of News Corp. they will look to stop anyone from making any kind of profit off of Myspace unless they are directly involved in profitting. The customization that users have is the very thing that made Myspace popular and all these resource sites helped to make that a possibility.

What would happen if we all banded together and started promoting another site like Xanga?

Ok server trouble has been fixed and traffic will now return to normal...

You will never believe what was the problem as when I inquired about it with the Server Management its the 1st thing I asked.

Somehow out of the BLUE the HTTP apache connections were reset to 150 request thus causing the entire server to stall. I paid Rack911.com to go in and look at it and they found this and set it to what it was suppose to be which is 2000 as it was before.

The site is running fine now and last looked was 500+ people online and this number will grow.

Now on to MySpace and the BS they have created. I will give the $25 refund sometime today.

I had this problem once and it took a few hours to find out the reason...

For this problem, I had thought of something earlier today. If we form some sort of group of resource website webmasters or something like that. So in future, if some site faces a problem like this, the group takes up the case with myspace or anyone else. Just thought that instead of a unknown webmaster approaching myspace, a known entity approaches them, it would be better. It could be done in a way so that only serious webmasters with good sites are admitted so that the group can maintain a rep in the business.

Just my thoughts.

I will leave the links in place on that site at the time being and once moved those links will come off and once the site has been grown enough to offer link sales then I will open that site up also.

It will take me a couple of months to get traffic built to that site and I may change the domain name as I dont want people to get confused.

Just like your link which is a PROFILE TRACKER Service. I stay away from links as yours just for the fact that all HELL could break loose if the users username and password were used for the wrong reasons. Now Im not saying you are this type person as I dont know if you are or arent but for me I just dont want that link on my site cause if anything was to happen my site would get blamed for it.

So as you can see which way this is going your link request will be denied.

I assure you that we do not abuse our user information. We have over 120,000 registered users and are one of the largest and most reputable tracker services on the Internet. We have advertised on individual sites (like MySpaceTwister.com, see the right hand side) and through the major search engines. We also have paid premium users who are very happy with our service. We have never promoted our site through any MySpace SPAM and are not one of the scammy trackers that are circulating right now.

Our company (New Media Properties LLC) has been in business for 5 years, as of this February, and would not risk its reputation on a poorly thought out service. We certainly would not intentionally perform any illegal or unethical actions, like what you are alluding to.

I hope you will reconsider our link request. Since we do not promote our site through MySpace, we rely on myspace resource sites for the majority of our traffic. If anybody else has a high-traffic site, we can purchase advertising on a cost-per-week or CPC basis with a target CPC of <=$.02. Shoot me a PM.

Thanks,
Lenny Grover

Hi
A couple of days back there was a spot available (last link) and I added my info in the next page. However, I never heard back from you, and noticed that someone else has that link now. My domain is www.cre8myspace.com

When 2 people hit the Advertise Here link at the same time and get the info page. I see both the links for the same spot. The one that is on top got it first cause the info was filled out first and it hit my admin panel first and the 2nd one falls under it. The bottom one gets deleted when I approve the 1st.
