I've noticed a LOT of people posting "would you buy this?, would this sell" etc type threads about GLITTER GRAPHICS recently, and then Andria done the best LAYOUT thread...So here goes:
This thread is gonna be the glitter thread for all us glitter designers to post:

SHOWING OFF their fave glitters.
ASKING ADVICE and CC on how to improve their current glitter skills.All other questions/advice that people need regarding the world famous GLITTER GRAPHIC :biggrin:

The rules:

HONESTY! (Although, I don't see this being a huge issue at MSP :P)
Only post stuff you made
Do respond to peoples questions when asking for opinions on content.If this has already been done, let me know, I may have missed it, although, I do spend my life on MSP haha :)

Those are nice, I like the first on the best.

But on the last one, the font (the cursive one) doesn't seem to be very opaque. (does that make sense?) It looks a bit gray on the spots where its like that. Like this:

Great glitters! They both look amazing but I would suggest adding some noise to the background fill of the last one. :-)

The thing that I would advise is use DARKER colors, I used to use light and bright colors too, then realised deep, dark shades are best for glittery things :P

To get "nowadays" style of glitters you have to kinda work it out yourself, there is no tuts for that.
Learn PSP and AnimationShop - create new text > then fill it with whatever your fill is then apply effects > plugins > expand add borders then expand and duplicate, add in all the frames for the background fills, send to bottom > merge visible then apply your other effects or whatever and add in the sparkle brushes/pixel fills over the top :D
That's the nowadays type style so yeah :D

^ Try putting a white border around the text and image, then a glitter border. It's too hard to read now. Also, colours other than silver and black usually look strange so stick to them.

Grace, I would put a black stroke around your text, THEN a white stroke and THEN the glitter border. I also much prefer smaller more transparent glitters. This is what I'm talking about to give you an idea:

I Just think putting the black, then the white, then the glitter around the text really helps it stand out more.

You're on the right track though...
GET A THICKER FONT
GET ARTISTIC-EFFECTS....
TYPE WORD > ADD AQUA/GLASS > ADD 1-2PX WHITE BORDER > MAYBE ADD BLACK, BUT BLACK BORDERS ARE HARDER TO MASTER IMO, SO STICK TO WHITE FOR NOW > ADD DROP SHADOW > ADD 4-5PX SILVER BACKGROUND FILL/BORDER
Then add transparent pixel fill or glitter brushes over the top of the entire glitter!

Remember in PSP...The "SELECTIONS > MODIFY > EXPAND" menu is your best friend! :)
