1/2 a meg for the background? That's way to large for someone to download and wait.

the shiny/shimmer effect you are using for the logo on the extended network.. could work better if you made the top layer (shine/shimmer light) set to overlay... Also, instead of using a rectangle for the light like this [], try concaving it like this )( this way the edges don't show...

i just did one real fast ... to show you what i mean.

and like the dude before me said... the file sizes can get huge with animations.. it's better to just animate the extended banner or contact table instead of the bg image.

why does everyone love animation? I think a little is okay, but man the contact table, extended network, and background images animated; isn't that going a little overboard? Too much animation can be straight up tacky. Also, the background is placed in the top-left corner of the screen. It looks like it should be at the bottom-left.

I'm with you but have you seen the glitters people use? Seems like people love tacky and don't use the nice stuff :)

Make it at the bottom. FWL and MSS use BGs that are like 3MB >.> And networks like 7-15MB

I am with you on animated layouts being tacky. I personally would not use on my profile, however, there is a demand for tackiness, and I am just trying to supply it. :)
