Hey... I tried making a 'celeb layout'
http://www.ultimateglitters.com/layouts/preview/hilary-duff-1.html

I don't think the background is too good. I don't have enough brush resources >.<

I was wondering if you guys used PSDS from site resources
or if you cut it yourself... HOW did you cut out the celeb?

I use PSD's provided on other sites, that I found on google.

It's not to bad. I think i'd like it more if the background was in the bottom corner.

I cut my own most of the time using the polygonal tool in PS

i cut using quick mask and paintbrush.. probably easier to use precut psds though.

i used a few psds from psd resources for my layouts package, but honestly, a lot of people use the same psds. i'm now cutting my own using photoshop mask pro plugin

Hit up deviantart for brushes and check for copyright.

Also as for cutting I just super zoom in and brush the edges but you usually get a little side mess so you can select inverese selection then feather your selection and delete.

i use psd resource sites.
i can't be bothered to cut my own most of the time. as for brushes, i have tons already that i just use all the time. i got them from various sites and just collected over 3000 or so.

I usually cut my own PSDs :P I just use the lasso tool on PSP, point to point with 1px feather.

I cut out my own using the polygonal lasso. I had no idea you could download free pre-cut out PSDs, I just found a website on google giving them away. Cutting out is the main time consumer, since finding that site I can now make a load of new HQ layouts about in 5 mins each.

Some aren't cut out all that well, a bit of touching up the edges and they're fine.

The extract tool is much faster/easier for cutting.

www.visual-addiction.net (in PNG format)
www.outspoken-kate.com (Go to the PSD section)

For me anyway, 2 of those don't work.

Here's the direct link to the PSDs on outspoken-kate.com:
http://www.outspoken-kate.com/index.php?x=psds

I just read the terms and I'm guessing you do require to give credit if you use a PSD from this website.

Not sure what happened to the psdelightful website though. =/

I just started using mask pro 4.0... it's ridiculously awesome... the only downside is that it runs really slow on my laptop... ok on my desktop... but it seriously works wonders... especially on the hard parts like cutting out wisps of hair.

I cut my own in PS using the polygonal tool or the magic wand for a solid background.
