I got a new job! :)

I'm excited, but at the same time... what's the word? Not...? lol

Last Decemeber (the 22nd to be exact) I got laid off from work. The day before my birthday. Nice huh? Anyways, i've been looking and looking and looking, and just cannot find another job! Lately, my graphic designing (Layouts, Glitters, etc) has been going really well. My sites are slowly getting more and more adsense earnings, traffic, and etc. I was excited, and thought "Hey! Maybe i can actually stay home and do this as a full time job!" - ecspecially after how well the group buy is going so far!

Then I get a call last night saying they wanted to give me an interview asap. I go in for my interview and he's like "You're Hired!". Had me go take a drug test, and told me i'm starting this weekend, Monday at the latest.

I am full time. Get FULL coverage health insurance, 401k, raises every 6 months, 2 weeks paid vacation after a year, and all the other good stuff.

In Michigan, it's near impossible for an 18 year old with no high school diploma, to get a job like that. So, it's awesome!

But I am lazy. No doubting it. I much prefer to sit on my ***. But, if I got the job, I need to keep it. My husband and I have so many bills to catch up on.

Just thought i'd share and let everyone know I won't be able to be on the computer AS MUCH anymore.

Congrats. I work full time and then go home and work full time on various sites. Since the ex kicked me out of the house lol. I have plenty of free time to do whatever I want. It's great.

No, probably doesn't have the 401K plans and stuff in his country same as most places other than america don't have it and therefore have no clue what it even is lol!

Well done Precious, the job sounds awesome, at first I thought you were saying 401K is how much you're getting paid! haha! Now that would be good :P
Anyways, I can understand how hard it is to decide, I have had to make similar decisions.
Follow your heart yeah, if the money you can make online is more than the job offers then stick at this...However, if not, go with the job
It would be so great meeting new people, new friends, and will look awesome on your CV (resume) even if you stick at it for a year, see how you like it then quit!
Just that year will help with getting jobs in the future and you def need something to fill up your resume with for the future if you don't have many good qaulifications.
That's my bit of advice!
I'm sure you'll love it!

That sounds great. Its good to have another job to support yourself, because who knows, this entire myspace gig could go up in smokes at any time, and there has to be a backup plan. Thats why I keep a part time job in addition to my graphics work, because i know that this may not last forever and i need SOMETHING to put on my applications as references.

Not sure about the drug test though, I don't do drugs and don't drink but I find an employer asking someone to take a drug test a huge infringement on our rights ... personally I would never take one.

Well you have a choice.....Either take it or they will find someone else to fill the position. They as the employer have the right to do this cause they want a drug free work force.

LoL. Yeah, when you said Ashley was your cousin - I had a feeling you live close. Because she lives close to me, and actually - only about 5 minutes away from my husband's family. :)

Yeah, I have NEVER EVER done drugs. I honestly think it's the stupidist thing in the world, and I am not afraid to tell my friends they aren't "cool", and actually are stupid. So needless to say, I passed the test with flying colors. :)

Yes, I'm working on my diploma. I set myself a few goals this new years (first time i've EVER done that) and so far have acomplished all, but the Diploma. (One I posted about not to long ago, the drives license/car) I have to get $700 to go through a program, but it will help me get my diploma in 6 months. (Which is good, considering I havn't even finished 8th grade!) So I will be working overtime at trying to get my bills caught up from me not having a job for 2 months, then i'm going to start getting the money together to finish this program. I'm really hoping to have it by Dec. (my diploma) so I better get a move on it!!
