did you make the backgrounds on those comic layouts or they are taken from a website?

I made them using images/photos and applying different filters in Photoshop

I am thinking about ordering the only problem with ordering other peoples work is I am always having to go back and resave each image in an optimized form to reduce the file sizes as everyone seems to like to put out layouts that have 250k backgrounds 150k contact tables ect. which take alot of bandwidth. Have you already gone through and optimized the file sizes or will I have to do that myself.

I try to optimize these as I go but just to make sure I just did a quick check and unless I missed one here is what I found:
The bg runs from 75K to 125K ( most are at or less than 100K )
The contact runs from 12K to 25K
The Nework runs from 15K to 35K

What screen resolution are you using?

The bg's are 1280x1024 which is the same screen resolution I use. Therefore I can't even see the non bg.jpg background color on my computer which I am assuming that is what you are referring to. We have tried to design these so they display over the current wide range of monitors being used. According to information I have been able to find, only 26% currently use a monitor size over 1024x768. reference: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Your thoughts please.

yes i kno very few use high res and im one of em. u could just try to get them to blend in and this would make the size less too. its better to have a small bg like how freeweblayouts and myspacestop do, having 1280x1024 is just not necessary.
thats one of the reasons i didnt buy your layouts. i actually like em a lot but couple of them i could see the white bg color behind them so that changed my decision. hope u will fix this in future releases

just my thoughts

Like many others, we are trying to find our niche and see what works best for us as far as time vs return. At 75 cents per layout, spending hours on each one isn't in the cards at the moment. We have only released three packs so far and we know we still have a lot to learn. What we have found so far is that price vs quailty is a big issue. Some are looking for custom designer layouts and are willing to pay a higher price. Most are looking for layouts at an afforadable price, at least until they have the traffice to justify the custom designs. We decided before we made the first layout that our product would be offered to the group at large, at afforadable prices, rather than custom, one of a kind designs. We are currently working on a a way to mass produce layouts for those that are in need of content. If we are successful, we will be able to bring the overall price down even more.

Our first attempt at mass producing 200 generic layouts can be seen here:

http://www.myspace-wizards.com/Layouts/Artistic/

We are now offering these 200 layouts free to any one that has purchased all of our Celebrity, Comic and Movie layouts at the regular price.

The mass produced layouts will certainly not appleal to everyone, but new site owners with limited budgets may like to have a few if not all of them.

Deep, thanks again for your input. We will certainly take your advice into consderation.
