The snow out here (Michigan) is prettty bad. My hubby was driving me to the store to get a slushee because my whole right side of my mouth is swollen due to a tooth abscess (Lucky me, right - My dentist appt is tomorrow at noon though. Excited this will be over soon!) Anyways, back on track. Well, we were stopping at a red light, and the lady in front of us slammed on her breaks. How smart, right? Right after a snow storm. Anyways, my hubby slammed on his breaks (well, my car) too, causing us to slide on the ice. And Smart hubby seen us getting ready to crash into the lady in front of us, turned the wheel to the right. So, instead of having a FULL bumper to bumper crash, we only hit the left side of my car, onto her car - causing much less damage then should he have continued to go straight.
I'm still so upset though. I cried. For one, i've never been in a car accident before - so I was scared. For two, I waited 2 years to get this car. After 1 month, it's been hit already! There wasn't alot of cosmetic damage, just a broken headlight, a hole in the bumper and some scratches. But now my headlights don't work, my blinkers don't work and there's some sort of fuel leak. Oh yes, and now my front end alignment is messed up. Joyful, right?
I'm sooo freaking stressed out, it's un-real. First my bank account goes negative $400. Then, my tooth gets a huge abscess, causing my whole right side of my face to swell - and the pain to go from throat to ear. Then, I get into a car accident. Which, may I remind you that I can't pay for the repairs since i'm already negative $400 in the bank! Any my insurance wont cover it because we only have no fault insurance, and Jay was considered at fault since he was the one to hit her. And you can't really sell graphics on here anymore, because too much competition. Can things get any worse? *Crosses fingers*
Done ranting. Thank you for listening.

haha gotta slow down in the winter time. And I am sorry about your tooth. I was just at the dentist yesterday and got a muller drilled and filled. hurts like hell. Also got my other side of my mouth drilled 2 weeks ago and its still hurting so the dentist said the nerve probably got damaged and he can either give it a root canal or pull it. i think i'm going to pull it so i dont have to worry about it anymore. oh yea also got like 10 more fillings left to get done in my whole mouth yet. Yay!
So yea, I aint a big fan of the dentist right now.

"Nae luck," as they say in this part of the world. Or you can think to yourself that you have had a very lucky escape. Any car crash you and everyone else can walk away from is a good one, I would say.
You'll feel much better when you get the tooth out - it's virtually instantaneous relief. I had a tooth abscess that kicked off on 1st Jan. By the time I got the tooth out on the 3rd, the relief was immeasurable.

It's true. That's why i'm so scared of it, lol. :) I actually had to reschedule my appointment for tomorrow though, because I had another important appointment today that I forgot about... I can't wait for tomorrow though.

man thats not bad concidering the accident I was basically part off today - here is what I posted on these car forums a few hours ago.
ok at wolli creek crusing along the princes highway. lat around 2pm today theirs this red light myself and a ford are at the lights because their red.
The lights go green the ford and myself take off, then out of no where this lil car comes flying this nissan pantara like 1985 model, it goes thorugh this red light and smashed right into the ford.
The ford took off pretty dam quick so they were going at speed, both cars were massive write offs, the fords whole front was smashed in and coolent was all on the ground. then my cars right next to the ford all this glass and **** comes on my car. the people in the ford were ok becuase their were a ton of airbags in their car.
The other guy who ran the red well he was pretty dam screwd they hit him in the drivers side door was all crused his whoel window ont he front of his car and the sides all shattered on him, I went up to him after the acciedent and like man are u ok and got no response he was covered in blood, and not even moving!! Moments later theirs a bunch of ambos fire engines and police, and they have the jaws of life out cutting the trapped guy out, it tooko them a while to get him out then they had a neck brace and all this other stuff on him, full crazy I don't think he was ok, his injuries looked pretty bad.
then im giving a statement to the police because i saw the whoel thing lol I was like right in the accident....then this greek tow truck driver backing this smashed ford out smashed into my bumper bar on my car :@ :@ :@ :@ :@ all he does is give me his rego and his card and he is like the boys at my shop will fix up the damage its not much damage any ways!!!
what a crazy day.....
soo want my next car to have airbags and some decent front....
still in shock :O

Eek's! I'm sorry that you had to see all that!
However, I want to state that I don't feel it's very nice, caring, considerate, whatever word you choose to use - to tell me that me ACTUALLY getting into an accident, isn't "not bad" because you ALMOST got into an accident. :( Am I being selfish thinking this?

No, not really.
It's like someone saying your toothache ain't so bad because they knew someone who had it once and it wasn't so bad.
Having said that, Connections was in very close proximity to a serious road crash and saw things never seen before. It was traumatic and really scary so it isn't surprising he would want to share the experience to try to get a perspective on it.

Yes, I do agree on that. And i definently don't mind him posting that. The fact he was telling me that I was in a actual car accident, wasn't bad - is what upset me.

what do you mean mc fox why should I not share it,
Precious what I meant by Not that bad, was meanng that you were not seriously injured nor was your car that damaged, you can buy new headlights and stuff off ebay for decent prices and pannel damage is not that bad to fix, my car today probly had atleast $500+ damage done to it form the tow truck driver who hit it..
my cars been in 2 accidents in the past 4 months both times were not my fault :@ :@ :@

HUH?!
Here's what I said:

Where do I indicate you should not share this experience? I am stating that it is no surprise you would want to share it, considering the nature of the incident.
I was also replying to Precious' question about 'feeling selfish' indicating I feel her response was perfectly natural, given the circumstances of her accident.
Basically, I am saying Precious' reaction was perfectly natural considering the circumstances and your reaction in posting in this thread about your near-miss was perfectly natural considering the nature of the incident you were involved in.

Yes, I can understand someone telling you it isn't that bad would be upsetting. A poor choice of words more than anything else. He's still traumatized from the incident in which he was involved - I wouldn't take it personally. :)
