Even i signed up with pingdom.com. They are very good. SMS rates are .45 there and at siteuptime the rate is .2 per sms.

I use ipswitch network monitor, if im sleeping and my server goes down
the alarm goes on i wakeup and check whats going on.. if server doesnt
respond then ill request a hard reboot from hosting provider

Just setup a google alert for it. I'll also post again when another free sale comes by. It's great though. For any email enabled phone you have a loophole to avoid SMS. :)
