I noticed in another thread you mentioned having a ticket to pay - are you saying you got a ticket for a traffic violation? :gun_bandana:
What was it for?
(Prepare to be lectured):hammer:
Maybe you need one of these? :scooter:

eh...
Ok, so I was driving to school right? and I was turning right on red and as I was turning this girl speeds up trying to get passed me and we collide on the sides of our car. And since supposedly i didn't look before turning right on red I got the ticket... My best friend was also in the car with me and didn't even see her..Eh, whatever my mother just said it wasn't poor driving, but lack of experience, which is obviously understandable since I am only 16.
No need to make fun of me, kasami. Stuff happens
I find it ironic how I am a very cautious driver and my brother on the other hand goes 70 in a 30 mph road. Oh well....
Anyways, that left me with 117 dollar ticket and 450 dollars worth of repairs on her car not mine. My car actually didn't have a scratch on it (little suspicious?)... And no my parents are not paying for it I am...
Also, I already took the 4 hour class. Actually I took it the day I got the ticket. So, my insurances doesn't go up and the points get removed from my license. Overall the situation has been taken care of and the past remains in the past.

yeah then id come home and tell my bf about it on msn or something and hed get soo mad at my bro, it was funny. Matt (bro) actually went out and had like 2 6 packs and drove home drunk so he wouldnt be asked to take me driving anymore, delaying my license for another 2 months. I had my friend James take me afetr that, and he just slapped me when i did something wrong (like drive on the wrong side of the road or in turnin lanes)

Get comfortable - this may take a while :smartass:
j/k
Unfortunate, but you are supposed to check your mirrors before you maneouvre - and not to make sure your makeup is on properly :stuart: - so even if the person approaching from behind is driving like a lunatic, you're the one responsible.
You just be careful, young lady. :hammer: We wouldn't want anything to happen to you.

Lol, well thanks for the concern.
I'm also such a slow poke on the road, which kind of contributes.....
It was a lesson well learned.

That's good that you got your license so young. Lol, I almost ran over my principal last week.

I'm always so slow on turns and my driver's ed instructor was just lectuing me about it today during my last day of on the road lessons. [finally] he always tells me to go so slow on turns, so i end up like stopping..
and i keep drifting into the other lane O__O. i suppose thats why i have to have my permit for 6 months. to learn how to not do those things.
Just watch out next time, as much as you can. I'm constantly afraid of someone in my blind spot so it takes me FOREVER to change lanes because i'm so worried about something like that.

Find your blind spot and it helps with your driving because you are aware of it and also know where your individual blind spot is located.

In New Zealand we can get our licence at 15. I'm kinda a lot older than that LOL, but the point is people drive the same whether they start at 15 or 50.
I have always found 15 to be fine for people to be able to drive.
Turn right on a red ????? I thought Red means STOP no question. Green is for GO ???.

You can turn right on red if there are no cars coming, however you may never turn left on red. Also, if there is a sign that says "no right turn on red" then you may not do that.
In a couple other states you can get a Hardship at 15 that lets you drive by yourself to get from one place to another like school, work, or church.
Here you have to wait at least until 16 to drive by yourself, no questions asked. And you can take driver's ed once you are 15, complete that, get your permit by taking a written test, (permit lets you drive with adult 21+ or sibling 18+) and then once you have that for 6 months, and have turned 16, you can get your liscense. if you are 17 or older you can just take the driving test at the DMV and the written test and get your liscense straight up.
I think it works pretty well. I only have 6 months to wait..

Yeah like Selena said here you are allowed to turn right on red unless stated otherwise.

I agree, 16 is too young (for boys too though, of course :P).

I'll have my restricted liscence at 15 1/2, but won't get the regular liscence until I'm 17.

Mine is restricted or 'provisional' until I'm 18. I can't drive after 11pm, and I can't carry passengers unless they're my parents. But I don't listen, I get home at 2am, and sometimes I put people in my trunk.

All these restrictions .... and all you want to do is drive a car, it's another example of bureaucracy gone mad.
Actually it's the politicians ... they want to be seen to be doing something and get their names in the mews so they come up with all these crazy ideas then back them up with moralistic bullsh1t which is hard to argue against.
And then of course someone wants to take it a step further .... it's only a matter of time before people will have to wear helmets in cars.

I don't know why, but I found that hysterically funny. But, true none the less.

Here you can only get your permit when your 16 and you have to drive with an adult who has their license.. and then when your 17 you can drive on a few restrictions (but still by yourself).. then 18 your legal. :)

here is Aus, car insurance for the under 25 year old MALE driver is astronomical, which clearly indicates that female drivers are sooooo much better :p
and sometimes being too cautious can cause accidents too, glad it was all ok for you and no-one was hurt :)
