I see many of you currently spend a lot of time making your own webpage screenshots by hand and/or find it not worth the effort and use the default ones watermarked with someone elses logos. I got tired of doing them myself and/or using scaled thumbnails of the background img for my layout previews which I found to look tacky and thrown together.. So I wrote an automated system to generate thumbnails quickly and efficiently using a list of urls in batch mode or individual preview images by requesting it automatically from a web service.

Importing 100s of layouts and generating real live thumbnails of my layouts now takes only a few minutes.

I wanted to put some feelers out and see if this is a service people would be interested in, and how much they would be willing to pay.. It's currently only used a a private resource but I wanted to get some feedback before deciding to open it up to a broad audience.

The service would likely use a fee per month for basic services or a credit based system which gave you a bucket of tokens for generating thumbs..

so reply here or pm me if you want details..

to a thumb or the service?

The service is not ready for public use.. I am considering coding the token/membership system but I wanted to see what kind of interest was out there first before I went and invested the time to making it usable.

the thumbnails are standard preview images of the page from a browser.. scaled to whatever size you want.. like a 1024x768 screen rendered to 400x300 .. or 1280x1024 rendered to 400x300.. it's all configurable..
