I don't think their going to get rid of us, they are just simply improving their user's experience like any other website does ;)

true, agreed
i just think everyone is loosing their business because of the number of layout sites out there think about it, we're all here but it's hard for us to earn good traffic because there is just TOO much layout sites out there its hetic ehh

Which one of you would that be? I don't get why seven people can use one account :|
I won't be quitting, less competition. If you can't adapt to changes you might as well drop dead.

I'm staying through it all. MAYBE in the end, something good will come out of it. I would love it if alot of you guys closed your sites. My traffic has decreased TONS from a few months back. There are more sites than traffic and there is the problem. It is def less profitable now.

yes so i believe that people should add more to their site and not just the typical myspace content, such as a game site or idk LOL custom work? profilio site? idk haha try to be creative

I am coming back. I quit for a while, but I want to come back. I have been thinking about this for a while now though. I remember all of those websites, like ebaumsworld.com and addictinggames.com, and I know that I will be making a website like that soon as well. Myspace will have to keep the HTML or CSS additions to their website, or else people will just go to facebook. Everyone I know says they go on myspace only because they can customize everything.
And the truth is, if you make good graphics, you will get the profit and traffic in return.
I am determined to get myself a car by my birthday in like 6 months with the few websites I am opening.

there is no point in keeping a resource site anymore.. once version 2.0 is released we're doomed. we will lose traffic immediately.
the world is over. its armaggedon for the myspace resource site owner.
pack your **** and leave.
run for your lives.

I'll quit.. the old profiles took a lot less time to customize and I'm done wasting time on a niche that's built around another company. I have plenty of other sites I enjoy working on that have nothing to do with Myspace.

why would you get rid of them,
just tweak your keywords..
if you target
"Green myspace layouts"
change it to Green pictures of nature and myspace layouts.
so people searching for "green pictures of nature" will still come to your site.
their will be myspace traffic for the next 20 years, people will all ways still search for stuff.

This is an opportunity. If you can't see what it is then you are in the wrong game.
I would love it if everyone sold up/closed down.

yeah hey guys,
even though myspace seems pretty bad right now i think it's still better to stay and make content for other sites I'm going to start with friendster & myspace cause who knows? profile v 2.0 will come out but in a while i mean A WHILE it might change and if myspace might see the traffic go down on myspace then they will consider going back to the classic myspace.
(i think the new myspace features has caused visitors to pack up and lead on the facebook)
Nora
October 31st, 2008, 05:19 AM
It really surprises me how many people are talking about moving on to Friendster.. I know making Myspace resources can be fun but aren't there other ways you can get creative without having to depend on another website?
Sure, the new profiles will be a great way for newer sites to compete but think of how much trouble users would have to go through just to add the layouts and you won't even get a link back.. Also keep in mind that if Myspace gets rid of v1 profiles, users will probably stop searching for Myspace terms because most sites will be outdated..

If you go searching on myspace for people you will see many of them already using profile 2.0 so word is getting out strongly. I was impressed last night when I went searching.
So yeah, strong chance it will flood all over myspace.

Okay I know I just posted but I really need to say this:
WHY ARE ALL OF YOU SO SURE THAT THIS ISNT GOING TO AFFECT MYSPACE SITES?! ALL MEMBERS WERE WHINING ABOUT HOW MSPLINKS WOULD RUIN THEIR SITE AND THIS IS SO MUCH WORSE THAN MSPLINKS!!
Sorry for the capital letters, I just wanted to grab everyone's attention because you all seem so unconcerned over these changes and I don't get it. When I first saw that there was a profile 2.0, I seriously thought myspace site owners would become suicidal. :?

Yeah, I am officially starting my new website for myspace. I will begin to check out 2.0, and adapt to it. This is part of the business world, and we have to be prepared for 2.0, or if they go back one day.
THAT is why, I will focus mostly on graphics and other things more. And not only make layouts for Myspace, but Friendster, Hi5, Bebo, etc.

Because no matter what myspace does users will always look for unique content that's just how it goes, part of the fun of having a myspace profile is making it unique from the rest, matching it with your personality etc...
All the new editor does is offer a tool to assist the user in doing this. :)

It's all a game. If you wanna win it, you can't quit! Haha.
Quitting is for losers! There is more to the internet than MySpace!
MySpace is **** for making money compared to some things 'cause so many people do it now.

I am not going anywhere. As long as sites keep moving toward social interaction, there will be a place for resource sites. What's good for MySpace, and all the other social sites, is good for us. Everything changes. It's called evolution. Adapt or die.

I agree. Business is business. MySpace 2.0 profiles will open up new opportunities for the web designers that are willing to put in the time to learn the new platform. Sure some people will leave, but that leaves more on the table for the rest of us.

I'm quitting everything and moving to Macedonia. Who's with me?!
I think this is just another 'the sky is falling' moment.. cool ya heels and wait it out. I also think it's important to diversify, tho.
Unless your site is a raging success and you're intelligently investing/saving your money, try another avenue or two.
I don't think there's any rule against working at McDonald's and owning thebestdamnresourcesiteintheworld.com ;)
