I'd say alot of people do it. Alot of people make complete copies of there sites. It usually works.

If you do run more than one site, just make sure they don't compete with each other. If the sites are indentical and have the same titles and text, then it probably won't do much. I'd pick a theme/market for each site and build on that. You can still use all the same content, but push different sections.

yeah just do a little bit different seo on the other site, you should be fine.

I've lately been planning to do a couple different sites. like having sites that focus on a certain content type, then taking that content type from that site and putting all the content from there onto my general myspace site. If i could ever find enough time to develop them all, i'd probably be making triple what i make now.

there are already 609584 sites out there, 609410 of them all have the same content (layout - graphics)
best thing is to focus on one main one and add unique content

I agree with defIed. Unique and different is important, especially since there are so many established players all running the same thing already.

i would focus on ONE site, and absolutely just focus on getting as much new ORIGINAL content as possible, and then your site stats/ revenue will go way up if visitors like your site

I think its important to focus on one site, but i personally think its ok to branch out into some smaller sites as well to make some smaller revenue, but basically pack the main site with as much content as you can, and then take a little of the content from the main site and make some smaller sites you know? Thats what i'm currently doing. Everything i make goes into the main site, but also into smaller sites that focus on just a few things. As long as all my sites are basically my content i'm comfortable with having multiples, but i wouldn't just pack a site with the usual content, but with my own.

I personally think its a good idea as long as they all have something of their own. I have quite a few of them and they do pretty good opposed to just having one. I am sure though that they don't always work depending on the person but from my experience I would recommend it.
