Okay, so I was batch uploading some layout backgrounds to photobucket tonite, and one of the URLs didn't work out for whatever reason. I went in to go check it out, and I notice they've got this funky onclick feature for their forms.

On my sites right now I've got it so that when you click, it will select the layout text automatically...which is cool, and I think most of us here are doing that. But in photobucket, they've got it so that it selects it, copies it, and then pops up a little yellow "copied" notification. Kinda like the alerts that gmail has.

I thought that was really cool, and I'm always looking for a way to make things a bit more intuitive for my users.

Does anyone know how to code something like this?

I know, I seen this and asked people about this before also...
But, I dont understand HOW it bypasses the Internet Explorer security feature....Because by default things aren't allowed to just be copied automatically to your PC clipboard....It comes up first with a warning "DO YOU WANT TO ALLOW THIS SITE TO COPY WHATEVER TO YOUR CLIPBOARD"
So, I dunno how it works...
However, a lot of guys here do, as some of these boys who sell Generators have the system too cos some of their gens automatically copy the codes similarly...

I have the code where you can copy the code with a click on text or the button and also on my gens let me know if you want it the status bar tells them that they have copied it.

i have it on this gen
