MySpace Changes!!!!!

Ok, MySpace just changed the way they do flash embeds in profiles. Their conversion technique is absolutely crazy and kills most flash codes which uses spaces in text. So, many of the flash generators are no longer generating code that works in profiles not sure about comments yet. I'm working on my affected gens to get them fixed. I hope to have new versions available asap, but as you would imagine, it will take a little time.

Yes, crazy text is ok. The ones of mine that I identified as having problems are Love Note, LEDScroller, Swinging Heart, and For Dummies. I should have updates very soon.

That explains why my flash bits have gone off my myspace profile. What a pain!

I wonder if other Flash generators are affected too (such as the Primus set and Neon)

MySpace are idiots if they are going to start disabling all our flash codes. People partly use myspace so they can make it there "My Space". If myspace starts disabling people from adding cool **** to there profiles then alot of people might start migrating over to xanga, friendster, tagworld and ect... Dumb move myspace!!

I agree. Don't know why they just can't leave some things alone. It does look like some of the other ppls gens are down as well. I started a new thread in the marketplace with how to get updates to my gens. So if you bought or traded for my gens, check this thread for how to get the update files.

Hi all

I decided to test out all of the generators that I have on a myspace profile and see which ones are down.

I have:


Neon sign (vulcanstudios)
Rotating text (vulcanstudios)
Love Note (nsmchris)
Custom Clock (nsmchris)
Textpix (Primus)
Gillter text (Primus)
Countdown (Primus)
Christmas Countdown
Crazy text (nsmchris)
Wavy scroller(RAH)

Of these, Neon sign and rotating text do not seem to be working, but hopefully it's a quick solution.

I don't think that will ever happen.They were probably fixing a loophole or exploit that we know nothing about.As long as there is code there will always be people who try to exploit it therefore they will always be changing it.

Myspace is retarded. I swear i'm getting so sick of them screwing everyone over. things like flash quiz gens and stuff are going to go to hell and then what are the users going to do? Blame the site owners when its really myspace's damn fault for trying to make myspace better, when all they keep doing is making it worse...

they also disabled any images on my site that have "online" words in them. so all my online now images stopped working.

have a look at the code to see what it shows.
Mine showed a folder called .._now so I just made another folder called that and put the images in it.I left the old folder too just in case.

its their site they can do what they want, the reason for the removal of these codes is probly because of the exploits they bring with them eg spammers and hackers.

I just noticed that my wall calendar gen doesn't work if you have spaces in your sites return tag. I've posted more info on how to update in my marketplace update thread. basically pm me if you need the wallcalendar update file.

Pretty soon layouts, glitter, contact tables, etc wont work either. Profiles will be just one big white page.

They will have to change their name to WhiteSpace.
