Guys, do you use unmetered dedicated servers? If yes, can someone tell me, which hosting company are you using and how good is the service?
Unmetered servers have the limitation of 10MBps in the switch. For higher limits, price goes on increasing.
If you aren't using unmetered servers, how many metered servers are you using to ensure no extra bandwidth occurs and 100% uptime is achieved.
Thanks for feedback.

mind sharing the reseller? I checked fdcservers.net and their prices are good, however their hardware is lacking.

I'm setting up my first vps at servint and I feel like a complete newb! Plesk is unfamiliar. Setting up my own nameserver is foreign. Not used to having to learn before I load a site on a server!

I'm going with a Steadfast Networks VPS when they start selling them again (should be tomorrow).I know nothing about running a server but their's seem to be pretty easy.

Does anyone know any companies offering these in the UK? They seem very expensive when compared with US hosts.

yeah Im switching to theplanet.com soon,
i switched from theplanet to steadfast... I found the service at theplanet to be horrible, I was with them for 3 months before the ev1servers merger... and I got billed 2000+ for two servers, because they forgot to cancel one of my services. There is horrible communication between departments... when you cancel stuff, you have to go through 2 days of hell before they do it right...
steadfast has been awesome so far... with gold management they do everything for you.. i.e optimization, transferring stuff.. all that easy stuff I'm too lazy to do. Plus, they reply to a ticket in like 9 seconds. Also, burstable bandwidth is a plus..
damn i'm not getting commission for this sales job

So, this one: http://www.interworx.com/ is the best out there then huh?
I wanna change CPs as I seen people saying cPanel is so last year and to try that or Plesk instead...I dunno, I LOVE my cPanel, I'm gonna miss him :(

Nope I tried interworx and it TOTALLY SUCKS.........You have nowhere near the options you do in CP and Plesk is more of a advanced CP but you have to have a damn LAW and DR to understand its inner workings...
I think the only one on this board that uses it and understands it is Greg.

I have been using plesk on a shared hosting account since 2 years without any problems. Maybe it is complicated for a dedicated server, as PGZ says.

I've actually been colo'ing 3 machines at the level3 datacenter in LA through a friend.. I would like the convienence of someone managing my servers but I really appreciate the flexibility of having complete control over my servers.
I recently added a dual opteron 2u server and find myself already growing out of it.. just picked up new parts this week and waiting on the case now.. I'm completely stoked on the new setup.. dual quad-core xeon 1.8's w/ 8gb of mem.. its going to SCREAM..
