17,000+ friends and they have flagged my damn account.
"Your account has been flagged for potential abuse of the MySpace system. Some of your privileges have been suspended for a short period pending review. Reasons your account has been flagged may include:
- Unsolicited mass mailing
- Abusive behavior
- Spam complaints submitted by other members
- Use of any sort of friend add, mail, or comment adding program, script, bot, or other tool meant to flood MySpace
Your account will be reviewed and released if it was flagged in error. Additional abuse or use of bots may result in account deletion."
Any tips?

Well I wasn't expecting you to reply with those words
No spamming:I sent out 2 bulletins yesterday 12hrs apart with updates to my site.Thats it.I even deleted the first bulletin before I sent the second.
I did use a bot to send them.Maybe they can detect a bot now.

The reason accounts get flagged is for spamming. People report you as a spammer and you get flagged.

Well I never.
Don't take me as a fool Fryman.
I know what spamming is and I know I haven't been spamming.I said I haven't been spamming so you are now implying I'm a liar.If you got nothing constructive to say don't bother saying it.
So lets take it as read that I haven't spammed on this account.

Spamming is only one reason in that email.
Anyone got any constructive views on this?

Im not saying you are a spammer, Im saying that if several people report you as one you then get flagged

Fryman's right. It only takes a few people to report you as a spammer to get your account zapped. It doesn't matter if you send out one bulletin per minute or one bulletin per week -- if they are reported, your account gets reviewed.
On the subject of using bots, however, I am of a mind that Myspace is becoming more diligent in detecting whether bots are used on accounts. I say this because I used a couple of throw-away accounts to test out Spacestation and they were zapped next time I tried them out. I haven't gotten around to checking whether it was a fluke or whether it was due to the use of a bot to make a couple of comments.
Of course, it may just be down to a combination of factors relating to that account - 17,000 friends and a couple of bulletins per day may be enough to trigger the review. I've often seen people (real people) trying to rebuild their account after getting an old one zapped and they tend to be fairly consistent in their complaint ~ My old account had 15,000 friends and Myspace killed my account for no reason sort of thing.

You send out a bulletin to 17,000 ppl twice in 1 day telling them to look at your site... and that's not spam? lol To many people it is, and with volume like that, you're toast eventually.

thats why I dont even mess with that bulletin crap anymore. I just have one main profile for my website to send out random updates and that is it.

MySpace should make the rules more specific. Obviously some aren't enough.

The bulletin was telling them my site was updated. There was no url or name to my site. There was only a line telling them that my blog was updated with the details and the url to my blog.Is it spamming now to tell people your site (no names,no url) and your blog (url only) is updated?
I am very careful as to the content of bulletins I post.
Thats why maybe I'm thinking about the bot detection.

That would suck to get an account with 17K deleted.

That's weird that I send 2-3 bulletins/day from an account with 12,000 friends for the past couple of months with no issues.. wonder why it's different for some people.

No, because we use it with over 100+ accounts everyday for the past two months.

My point is, with 17,000 people.. you are bound to get some people thinking it is spam.

exactly , we take all that into consideration and sorry to see you lose your account. we call it spam cause thats what it is. what you did is against the TOS and you just happen to get cought.
you need to be careful. i would say give me your account info but its in someone elses hands. we review them right there and they get placed in a que to be deleted. just say goodbye and start over.

Ok , first off the TOS is so vague it isnt funny. If anyone with 1/10 the knowledge of internet law I have read it they would laugh at the loopholes.
And as for FLAGGED I was recently flagged ...why ? becasue I emailed my "friends" with a message that had a link to another profile I created.
Now. I wasnt promoting or selling a product NOR was I mass mailing...unless you consider 500 messages to 1600 friends is mass mailing. and yeah I COPIED and Pasted that message to !
It came down to one idiot who is a total nutjob who didnt like getting mail from anyone.... hence then why did this jerkoff ask ME for an ADD ! lol
The real spammers of porn and products and BS profiles selling self help or how to make a million bucks should be flagged and deleted. Hell you can have a group with dudes showing their manhood but god forbid you email too many people !
ok now Im pissed ...lol.. time to post some FU bulletins b4 they delete that profile !!!!

So posting a bulletin saying you have updated your blog is spamming?
Or posting any bulletin if you have over 1000 friends is spamming?
Or posting a bulletin saying you have updated yout photo is spamming?
Or,or,or,or the list is endless.
How many people need to report it before it comes to Myspaces attention?
How was my bulletin spamming exactly?
Which part of it was spam?
I'm sure the answers will help a lot of people
Thanks

ok i wasnt trying to be harsh in any way , i was just simply stating the facts. and for the manhood coment, that is not allowed either and will eventually get cought and removed.
dont get me wrong whoever froze your account probably didnt look into the why or what you did. we move thru to many accounts and we try to use our best judgement.
if what you say is true then ill try to see if i can help by looking into what you did. but asking people to go to another site (and you being the owner) is a bit between the lines. do you have adsense? ads? can you profit from people going to your site? if so then the account manager could consider it spam. its totally up to us and what we feel your doing wrong.
as for the help i can give. im working on that and the staff will be the first to know. they dont mind us on these boards and just ask that we dont let out important info. but i can help to give you that edge.

I'm going to have to say that it is hit and miss. There are humans on their end and manually delete accounts. Remember there are millions of accounts.
On another note, lots of accounts get deleted everyday, I can tell when I see 20 requests from hotties and another 20 from "this account no longer exists". All the same types of porn profiles, but that's a perfect example of how their clean up methods are very hit and miss.

I think you are doing more then what you are claiming to be doing, they only falg accounts when people do spammey stuff...
If you are just sending a few messages, just sending a few bulletins, just sending a few comments you will never get flagged.
But if you send 100s of messages, 100s of comments and heaps of bulletins you will get flagged.
