After a ton of work, i just thought i'd share the site i'm just now launching and starting to promote. Its got no traffic whatsoever yet, but hoping to get there. No backlinks, no traffic, no PR, so i'm really starting from the ground up.

All layouts, all graphics, all contact tables are made completely by me. The only things not made by me are the gens. I did however make all the lettersets in my glitter gen, which I love so much.

I expect this site to do very well since all content is basically 100% unique, besides the contact tables which I sold in a package. Anyone care to share their thoughts?

I'm aware the layout is quite different than what most of you guys see, but I loved the photography so much and just had to use it. The style seems to do pretty well for hot-lyts and some other sites, so might as well try it out, and I can always change it. Also let me know if you see any errors or whatever that i should correct. Suggestions are always welcome.

Looks like a great start. I wouldn't expect anything otherwise though ;).

But now that fox mentions it, I have to agree. Not sure if you are avoiding "uglifying" the stuff by adding tags but if you don't it won't be long before some *** steals it and attempts to sell your stuff. Also consider tagging the layout a bit more. Get an idea of clean tagging from DavidR as he does a real good job blending it in without messing up the design.

i actually ended up just upgrading my dreamhost plan. i know i'll probably get cut off, but i sent them an email before asking if their plans were inflated, and they said no [not that they'd admit it] and i was told that as long as i'm not overdoing my bandwith, or using too many connections [not sure how to avoid that] that i would not be cut off..
it didn't really hurt me any to upgrade 2 plans up, since it ended up getting me a +22.50 in my dreamhost balance, since i switched from yearly to monthly. idk i just really needed the site up, and figured i'd stay with dh until i could fully decide on a server company. [i figure i can use the email against them if they tell me im using too much bandwith]

I think you should drop the uppercase transform from the navigation menu items and reduce the width from 225 to 200

you should be fine with dreamhost. I have had a high bandwidth myspace site hosted with them since last march of 2006 and I have not had any problems with them. But I also use photobucket.com to host all my layout images so that way it aint so hard on my server.

Nice site.I agree with the tagging ....gotta do it. Also connections IS the reason why Dreamhost will cut you off. I'm still on them and complained of slowness and they "turned apache to full" whatever that means but it did the trick. I think thats the last step before they close me.The people I'm going with aren't selling any more VPS until 10th Jan so I hope I last until then.

100 uniques a day...on the first day opening, and you call that bad? No backlinks, no PR, no links anywhere but here and a couple free exchanges. I haven't even begun to do all the promoting i plan to do. I don't have any links on any profiles quite yet, so honestly, 100 uniques is quite good i'd say for only releasing it LAST night.
Of course it needs more layouts as well, I plan to update it regularly at least every 2-3 days with more layouts. I'd much rather have these few quality layouts than have a package of **** layouts that will make me not as proud of my site.

It's really great Selena! :D I like how it's all laid out, & navigation is really neat & easier to find than most sites' set-ups.

In my opinion, what was wrong with it was that it was a silly comment - she only just opened, of course she won't be getting thousands on her first day (but she will in a few weeks i guarantee it :)) and she has 80+ layouts, most sites don't even have 50 let alone one single original one.

Yeah, I tried the generator but it didn't generate an image, but I thought it was just my connection being buggy.. :pinch: I know it's not the scripting though coz I've tried that gen prior to the site's launching, & it worked fine. Definitely an Imageshack issue.

The dolls i had to change because they were taken from tab's generator when i bought it. I haven't gotten around to changing anything yet because of imagemagick's messup.

1179 Uniques per day according to the extreme tracker. Wow. Good job! Not too bad after only having been up for a little over a week. You and I are in a similar boat. I just launched my site a couple of weeks ago. Although I am only getting around 800 unique visitors a day. : (

My traffic is pretty much coming all from one source, or 90% of it is coming from one place.
the rest is from a few profiles, and a couple other sites.
