I recently canned my monitor of 1024x768 for a HP widescreen 22inch 1680x1050 monitor and boy am I in heaven. Everything looks so gorgeous.
But working on photoshop is a dream on widescreen. I can work with more rows of brushes, having tons of space for quicker graphic work!
Take a look at how many more rows of brushes I can open in widescreen and still have enough space to see things in the middle and on the right side.

It's unbelievable how much graphic work I can get done now!
If you are in the market for a monitor I strongly suggest getting a widescreen monitor. Even the majority of websites look awesome as it covers the entire page. MSP on widescreen looks awesome. The detail on this monitor is uncanny.
DVD, video is beautiful. Video games look stunning on it also.
It don't get better than this!
Goodbye 1024x768...I predict widescreen will be taking over for PC.

I went to my school's computer lab before in the engineering building and they had extremely large screens. I don't know the dimensions but they were too large for my taste. I'm sooo used to 1024x768. I'm not ready for change :P. But wow @ the screenshot, that's a lot of space!

Love bigger monitors but don't care for widescreens...once every site on the net has been converted to widescreen format I'll switch.

Sis gave it to me as a gift, but her rich neighbor sold it to her for $125 cause he opted for the 24inch model. Lucky me eh?
It took me about 6hrs to get used to it, and no way I am going back to 1024x768.
Everything on widescreen is much more presentable. Photobucket is easier to work with on widescreen. Photoshop looks better on widescreen. For example the brushes preset tab etc is not underneath the layers window which is less confusing. Plus you can work on a background and on a network graphic at the same time and not worry about space constraints.
Using very less scrolling equals faster speed when uploading images also.
Don't mean to show off here, but it's the truth and this is a review for those looking into purchasing or upgrading their screen size.
As far as websites embracing widescreen? Not many need to, hundreds of sites already look good on widescreen. Almost every site I'm browsing looks great.
So if you read reviews out there, that widescreen is not this or that, get a widescreen. Nuff said. You won't regret it. (Y)

We have one of those too - just got it about a month ago but I never get to use it for my graphics. It's okay though. I have my laptop and a dual flat screen monitor set up on my desk. Almost as good. :)

A few months ago I had bought a HP 17inch 4:3 model and I returned it back. For some reason I found the monitor with some white halo in the middle. I don't know if it was defective or not, but glad I returned it back. It cost me close to $300. Today's monitors, especially widescreen offer much more for that price, so that is a good thing for the consumer.

MMM congrats. I was tempted to buy a 22" samsung widescreen. It was on sale at bestbuy for 240.00, but I'm moving out of the country next month so I didn't :( I hook up my xbox to my 19" lcd monitor, because i refuse to buy a fancy hdtv.

Ya I love my wide screen.
But what is even cooler is having 2 monitors linked together. They are right next to eachother, and I can open up windows and stuff on each one. And when I move my mouse to the far right of one screen, it goes onto the next screen. And I can drag windows from one screen to another. It is so cool :)
